She used to sing below Bey in the harmonies sometimes (she was 2nd lowest being above LaTavia). It doesn't sound bad, she just sounds uncomfortable. She has a song called "Better without You" where she sings low pretty good. It doesn't help that when DC became a threesome that the other 2 sang all 3 parts at times and she only did 2/3, never taking the bottom note
@Marley Musiq typically yes but there are songs where Kelly has sang under Bey in a harmony in both iterations of Destiny's Child. She never sang the bottom most note in a harmony, however.
Um yall do know she can hit in any range plus she use to help queen Bee sing some of her parts in the studio when she forgets her own words to her songs so don't always think its beyonce voice Kelly been over looked for years her voice is naturally phenomenal and beautiful
I saw her 12 year Ago Live in Frankfurt Germany when she got her time singing Dilemma why a legendary acapella including the crowd Queen b and Michelle were like amateurs compared to her !!! Amazing voice !!! I get goosebumps just by remembering her incredible voice thanks Kelly !!!
Consistency is her problem. It feels like her voice is really unpredictable at times. Sometimes she can sing a note beautifully and strong and other times she seems unable to hit that same note without cracking and totally missing it. It's really a hit or miss the time she enters the fifth octave. That being said, she has a really beautiful tone and her voice sounds amazing in the parts she's comfortable singing.

Her voice shines in the upper register. That's where her true voice comes out. Kelly has sweeter and lighter character. I would place her in soprano. I think she lacks the confidence to really go there.
I wish she experimented with her range more, she can go so much lower I can tell, she also doesn’t belt high often

That G5 was Kelly really attempting to let go and flat foot sing. She doesnt do that often.
