    I am surprised that his kindergarteners know what an equation is. I didn't know what an equation was as a kindergartener (mid 1960's in Bangor, Maine).

      I have younger kids. My small group times are a pain to do ☹ all they want to do is play in centers all day

    Great idea! What did you do for the rest of the class whilst you did this? all on iPads?

      I am almost sure there is another teacher in the class. When a student approaches, he asks him to talk to someone I think is called Tracy. Not sure, but your "all on iPads?" sounded judgemental, I am sure you didn't mean that. Some schools might have 2 teachers in class, and they might work with different activities and in different stations.
