This meeting feels SO different. Even just the vibes between characters. With the OGB, Morrigan is scared of Flemith. Without, Morrigan just seems angry. I love the contrast.
I have to say I much prefer the Dark Ritual version of this meeting. Morrigan's reactions are quite telling about her. She makes a good mother.

Considering that Mythal/Flemeth may know the practice of spreading shards of her/theirself, it may be possible that Andraste is a shard of Mythal. Maybe.
Andraste was the first holder of Mythal. Mythal was an Old God Soul- purified after the first Archdemon. Andraste passed Mythal along prior to her death.
I always believed Flemeth was the name taken by the "missing" daughter of Andraste the last surviving heir of her blood line

Personally I prefer this meeting taking place in the Fade - the natural echo and the settings seem more impactful and dramatic.
I've always liked Flemeth. It would be interesting, to be young, a mage, on verge of death, (after a fight?) and be found by Flemeth, and healed, and taught by her after the 5th Blight. . . . .. .. .and able to turn into a dragon! ;p

I know its not entirely possible.. But i think that it would awesome if Kieran was to be one of our companions in one of the future games.. After all, don't they imply that Morrigan might have had a kid anyways even if you don't do the ritual (In Dragon Age Origins ending) Could be cool for the plot

Yea i know theres no Kieran in this version. But at the end of Dragon Age Origins where it tells you what happens to the people/world. Doesn't it say that Morrigan might have a kid even if she didn't do the ritual?

Next game flemeth will probably be the main villain or the final villain if not the one for the next game. It seems the series has been subtlety building up flemeth for its big series climactic end.
More likely the protagonist of Dragon age 4 will have to fight the forgotten ones. Inqusition is basically like the original Mass effect.

Dumat is dead, his remains used to make the Sentinel Armor of Awakening and a few weapons. Unless real necromancy becomes a thing in the DA universe, he wont.

Yes, but it would be kinda hard for a blighted old god whos bones and scales were turned into armor and teeth and claws into weapons revive. Or at least very very complicated... or uncomfortable.
Considering what she said that she was betrayed like the world was betrayer, I think she seeks vengeance on the Maker or whoever made the darkspawns, archdemons and painted the city black. She's either the mother of the old gods (motherly godess) and she seeks vengeance for her children turned into evil beasts or is mad at the Maker because he abandoned the world.
Once I speculated that Flemeth might be Andraste, but that seems rather impossible.

I know this video is almost 8 years old but I just recently finished this game again. Morrigan drank from the well, but the last line Flemeth told Her. "The soul is not forced upon the unwilling. You were never in danger from me." That completely threw me off. Ever since playing Origins I was always thinking I was trying to protect Morrigan even though it turns out she never needed it. These characters are amazing and I love them.

Dark ritual or not, Flemeth is one of my favorite characters. Morrigan says she wasn't that good of a mother...but Flemeth never tried to really harm her otherwise. It's trippy, what is she really planning?!
I think a lot of Morrigan's view comes from the book that says Flemeth consumers her daughters to live forever. I think it's pretty clear from the "Mythal comes to women in need" story that what she means is "Mythal passes her god power along to her daughters" which is likely a more attractive prospect, I'm actually a bit sad that Morrigan doesn't even consider this once she knows
@@storageheater Its not only that. Morrigan was emotionally and mentally abused. Shaped into a successor, shaped into what she is - Flemeth was always a monsterous mother that used emotions against her and always used bait and switch and other strategies to slowly but surely made her into the woman she was in DA O, only thanks to the Warden she got about and blossomed. Flemeth IS a monster without redeeming qualities that has only one purpose - granting Mythal revenge on the world just like Mythal granted vengeance to Flemeth long ago. (I think Justice is not that different from Mythal actually. Whatever she was is long gone and only demon of hatred and vengeance remains AND needs to be dealt with. I actually think Solas is a better man than Mythal - man who ripped world apart and created the Fade, destroyed his people)

As far as we know in lore (the myth part of it at least), it was Fen'Harel. Though with her supposed friendliness towards him, we dunno.
It may be, for all we know, that Fen'Harel set a rebellion and did trick the other pantheon and Forgotten Ones, but he himself may have been betrayed along with Mythral, leading to the resulting crap situation for Thedas that he may not have intended.

Chris Baxter not weird if you listen closely it has all of her strength, humour, intelligence, charisma and mystery shining through. I guess I just pick that up more after seeing her in many of her other roles.

Jay Strese I only just found out this year and it got me interested in all of her other work. Voyager was released when I was 14 but I never got to watch it then, thanks to Netflix I binge watched All of Voyager this year at age 37 in 3 and a half weeks on graveyard shift hours.

I suspect that she will be the main villain or a similar role and bioware stating that Flemeths story is done may be a clever ploy as she is now technically Solas aka the dread wolf.
How do you get this scene? I had a world state where Kieran didn’t exist and this didn’t happen. I never met Flemeth in that play through.
I pity those who got inquisition as their first DA and experienced this instead of the world state where warden romanced morrigan and came to eluvian. A nice character development for Morrigan

I had been think about the next game consequences theory : First, accept morrigan ritual at DAO, flemeth get the essence of the old god and she gave it to Solas. And in next Dragon Age game, Solas will be more harder to fight with essence of the old gods.
Second, refuse ritual, flemeth only gave her essence and Solas absorbed it,And Solas won't have a upper hand of advantage.. Thirdly, same as the first (but Solas forced fully absorb her essences), before that flemeth send the essence of the old god to Mythal instead. Then at the next Dragon age game Mythal will reveal herself again and fight with the new protagonist against Solas. If you noticed at the temple of Mythal, the whole Mythal is hiding in the eluvian during escape from corypheus instead with flemeth body.

I find it so interesting how when Morrigan says to wait, Flemeth stays and continues to talk to them, but when I did it with Kieren and the dark ritual she doesn't stop. Might just be me though...
She doesn't stop because she says that last line just before she turns her back.

Morrigan talked of a child with my warden, but I never saw him, as for the ritual, damn game doesn't accept it because someone had to die when setting up the keep!

You can access it if you drink from the Well, ritual or not, but it's a 1 time thing, you can't return here.
OK,so this means that if your mage Inquisitor drinks from the Well of Sorrows,he or she is also the one who shapeshifts into a high dragon instead of Morrigan?
No if the Inquisitor drinks from the Well, you need to fight this dragon and dominate it to fight Corypheus' dragon for you, if Morrigan drinks she will fight instead and you skip this dragon fight. If Kieran is alive and you drank from the Well, Morrigan will just lead you to this altar and summon the dragon after you talk to Flemeth in the Fade.
what i dont understand is if flemeth is so powerful, why would she not have stopped coryphus from doing what he did in the future you see when sidding with the mages. im sure she knew of a way to close rifts and seal the breach, and im pretty sure she wouldnt want that future to happen so.. im sure she'd have stepped in if she saw there was no other choice.. kinda give the world a huge shove back on track, so to speak...
I don't remember this scene at all.. Does this scene take the place of the meeting with Flemeth in the fade if the inquisitor decides to drink from the well instead of Morrigan? Or has my memory gone terribly bad

sfaets You only get this scene if you don't do the Dark Ritual in DAO, meaning Morrigan doesn't have a son by a Warden. Otherwise, you see Kieran, her son, with her at Skyhold and you meet Flemeth in the Fade when she summons Kieran to join her there.

I know your comment is like 5 years old but you need to play Origins first and romance Alistair if I'm correct so they perform the dark ritual!
@@MissDragonClaws . Lol, no. I mean, Alistair is one option, but you don't need to romance him, it can even be Loghain or the Warden's child, also, specifically for this game, you don't need to play Origins, you just need to customize your decisions in the keep.

@Pg TrAxX If you romanced Morrigan Kieran is born even if you didn't accept the DR. The difference is that he doesn't have the Old Soul and you get this scene which is the same if Kieran doesn't exists. But I don't believe that Flemeth doesn't know about him if the ritual wasn't performed.

Am I the only one who dislikes how meta the stuff with Flemeth is? I mean, sure, everybody who's *playing* is like "OMGWTFBBQ FLEMETH IS MYTHAL!!?!?" But sans Morrigan's presence, the Inquisitor wouldn't know anything about Flemeth. They didn't have any history, even briefly, and this isn't a big plot drop that explains everything that came before... It's just you calling for the avatar of Mythal, getting exactly what you asked for, and then having somebody *else* freak out about it while you (in-character, at least) stand there somewhat lost and trying to piece things together.
This would've been a meaningful reveal for the Warden, and it is for the players. But it feels so wrong learning it from the perspective of the Inquisitor.

The ongoing story in dragon age is unlike anything in any other game. Feels like MCU level long form story telling. It would make an amazing tv series
