    My fave amp recording technique is a royer 122 right in the center with a 57 just to the right then if the room is large enough ill add stereo ambience

      yep. totally screwed the pooch on that! meant to say capsule not condenser (Angel) commented on my word goof.

    I do wish all mic’s had some sort of notch or line to show where the capsule is. If you experiment with different mic combos it just adds time for me checking it which isn’t the worst thing but still, it would be nice.

    Great tones man!! What i use in my bedroom studio is ribbon mic about 2 drum sticks distance or more from speaker but with figure 8 to left and right, not direct to speaker...cool room results

    Cool stuff Bryan! Are you at Blackbird here in Nashville? Great place! All these years I've used an SM 57 and I did not know that about the diaphragm lol. Thanks for sharing that :)

    Dyanmic capsule, not "dynamic condenser"... dynamic and condenser are two different types of mic

    An SM57 is a dynamic 'condensor' mic falling off my f'in chair lol pmsl....

    is it me or when he says the 57 is pointing at the center it's actually not in the center? has anyone else seen this?
