okay so after a second listen: the vibe i get from this is something along the lines of "somebody recovering from some sort of pain and disguising their agony behind a facade of strong, yet almost cynical faith" which is a really specific scenario but it's what i've gathered............. maybe the whole decapitation thing is a metaphor for losing the biggest parts of yourself and never truly being able to regain them?? either way, we have been fed well with this banger!!

But man, as a transguy I can't help but see this song as a sort of metaphor for a queer person in a religious family.
Someone who wishes for nothing more than to be loved by their family instead of having been cursed to live as a morbid outcast. Rejected by their own loved ones with no way to change it, except for cutting off parts of themself in order to be loved and as a result, feeling stuck in their life.
Anyway good job Vane, this is an absolute banger as always!
