Must be so nice for you all to ice fish.here in Southeast Michigan we have no ice at all,usually I'd be on hard water this time of year.
Nah it's the same for us. It's been a bad season with not much safe ice and a lot of the ice we get keeps going away. Hopefully the next week or two firm things up but most of the main lake won't freeze for some time if at all this year. Good thing is within an hour there is safe ice on other lakes
Those Jet Boil stoves are awesome, hard to get soup on a simmer though, it seems to be an all or nothing affair for heating your grub...

Does the canadian tackle store actually have that colour in stock? Last time I check they were super limited on selection

Yes it is available. The colours are out of stock because it’s sold so quickly. We are restocking now. But you gotta order while you can. :)
Which color recommended for simcoe?
jam1971 M at this time any colors. They all work to be honest. It’s just because I had that one tied on. It’s the shape and action and size.

Stick your head in the hole and get some good goggles. The lake is clear enough you should see them.

Rouge Head I’ve been doing it for 3 years now. Once you get over the brain freeze it ain’t so bad if you have a heater in your hut 🤣🥶🥶

Hey buddy, new subscriber here from the GTA! Just curious, is Simcoe fully frozen over? How much ice is there in sum spots? Hoping to go out tomorrow just by Beaverton, will be on foot with my portable hut going for some whitefish!
