Ive had a no name brand one off amazon for 3 years keeping my dead battery going like a champ during winter months for half the price 😂 all the accessories to. Brand name added 50 bucks 🙅
I bought the Vector. Strangely mine is labeled as 1200 amp. That one was only around $50. It does look identical to unit this video. I did have the opportunity to try it and it works fine. It looks like both of vector and Dewalt identical leads for the jump wires. So I don't think you could go wrong either way.
Not everything thry sell as HD, or even Lowe's qualifies for the 10% discount. Many sale items or specials won't always work on the initial scan. You can go to customer service and thry can sometimes override it for you. But when I buy certain materials or tools I don't always get it. But I'm not there for the mil discount, as that is simply a bonus. Or. Maybe you spent your limit this year. They cap it at like $400 a year.
@@jmackinjersey1 same with Home Depot, they cap it as well at $400 and now they demand that you use your QR code to get the discount; the secret menu item that gives the 10% off was removed back in July 2022
@@jmackinjersey1yes and not everyone is aware that they spent their cap so when it does come up a lot of customers tend to get mad at customer service desk when they don’t get the discount. Sometimes it can be over ride but that’s only if it’s up to 50$ at our store anything after that has to be approved by a manager especially since they took away our military markdown and customers have to go thru the HD App to be able to use the discount now.
Have lots of dewalt stuff and not one tool has let me down. 2 years nothing has broke at all. My xr impact and drill are great. I'm becoming a dewalt fan for sure. Mac tools are dewalt if I'm thinking correctly.
@W1ldSm1le interesting, I had a lead acid one, and it sucked. I always needed to be charged and never had enough power. I am sure a larger lead acid one would have been better, but for compact, wouldn't lithium be better?
@@edtheoldtechguy the lithium cells they use are off the shelf samsung or LG cells. Those batteries aren't really supposed to get below 20f or above 85f. Cycling temperatures will degrade the batteries for sure, and there is a non zero chance the batteries could swell, crack, and start a fire. No arguments about the lead acid ones being a nuisance but if the pack travels with the car, especially in cold climates, it should be lead acid.
@@edtheoldtechguyyes of course you want lithium. Can't believe dude said lead acid. 😂 what a joke. Lithium has insane power and fits in your pocket. Screw lead acid who wants to carry a 60lb battery to have enough boost. May as well carry spare battery. Surprised he didn't recommend Ni-Cad 😅
Nope I trust the tied and true Schumacher DSR115 yes it's pricey as hell Yes its as heavy as a semi truck tire Yes takes forever to charge(at times) But you don't have to work about jump starting your battery because the damn thing can crank a semi truck
No. Price is too high for such low amps. And just so you know, these are designed with the non-car guy in mind to make it easy for them to jump a dead battery. Has nothing to do with mechanical skills.
I don't understand these products. Cars get way hotter and way colder than a lithium battery can be safely stored at. 9/10 a car gets jumped because cold killed the battery, what good is a jump pack that works like shit under 30 degrees?
@@edtheoldtechguy : Didn't think it was necessary, but sure, I'll elaborate. There's no way in hell those pesky little wires and whimpy clamps would carry anything near 1.6kA. It is good I’ve had it for about 2 months now. You can get about 6-8 jumps off a full charge. I definitely recommend
The dewalt?
Hey Ed, buy both of those and review them???
Good tools. Price is nothing to brag about. Good video.
Dewalt doesn’t have enough juice to jump a V8. It looses its charge after 2 tries.
Same it happened to me too. Only works if I have it plugged in
Ive had a no name brand one off amazon for 3 years keeping my dead battery going like a champ during winter months for half the price 😂 all the accessories to. Brand name added 50 bucks 🙅
I got one from eBay for $60 and I works super very small with a case
Only jumps about two or three times a.d then I recharge it
Hey thanks for sharing!
If you’re gonna spend 100 bucks on a jump pack you might as well get the Battery Tender brand
NOCO or bust
Might pick that dewalt up tomorrow for 100 beans sounds good 👌
Let us know how you like it

I just bought one today and they are up to $149
Nothing under 2k amps, unless you have a small engine with a low battery. A completely dead battery needs a lot more amps to wake it up.
Price went up? The Dewalt is $149 now
Literally 😂
Still @ $99 I bought one yesterday
I just saw it at 189.00 plus tax😅😂
@@ballsscott6010different unit those are air compressor as well
Damn wish my store had them for 99$. They’re 134 here.
dang sorry
what is better, Ed? Those two items or the larger items between the Vector or the DeWalt, the larger models?
I think the NOCO brand has better options

Was going to buy the Dewalt but they won't give me the 10% veteran discount so I didn't buy it. Don't know why it didn't qualify.
Buy it bro! I'll pay the 10% out of my pocket and give it to you. Not only because you are a friend but as a thank you for your service.

Excellent to hear!

Gooloo gp4000 is a better product at a. Better price
My dewalt jump starter doesn’t charge how do I fix it
I would need to buy one to show ho to fix it, stay tuned
Try charging it with the cigarette llghter that came with it. It worked briefly with my generic lithium ion one. It should work for some.
I go with hulkman 🔥
Ok
Bottom line everyone should have one . They come in handy when you least expect it .
Very True!
Should have a lead acid one, not a lithium one. There's a bunch of reasons why your car battery isn't lithium

HD is showing it at $132.82 not $99
Wow, that sucks that they raised the price. This video is a bit aged now, so it makes sense that the price would be different

Gooloo 4000

I will look into it thanks!

Ya that’s not new it’s been that price for a very long time
Beat the piss out of my vector on a daily from jumping atvs too diesels at my shop
Id say its worth the money
I’m good I’ll go buy the Viking at Harbor freight and get that lifetime warranty
Sounds like a good idea.
Really? No bs if u bring it back?

Interesting I would think you keep this at home and pull it out when needed. One that can stay in the car would be much better though
Same product.
How long do these pieces of junk take to charge up?
Not sure
Get the Ryobi. It uses its own battery packs to charge super capacitors so if it’s dead. Swap in a new battery. No wait time to charge.
That actually sounds like a great idea. One I have been asking for. Thanks for the heads up.
Ryobi is made for women
That's no sale lol
Thanks for the info
2 cents more for dewalt
Now the are like $150
Really WOW!
Just go with noco
Thank you for the advise!
poor quality i just returned mine
Good to know thanks
Haha! 1600Amp, only an 🇺🇲 would think that's reasonable.🤣
Are you ok? Would you like to expand on what you are saying here?
