You rarely see it come up by Kazuya had innate tough guy which nullifies really weak hits like that. It's so rare Spargo probably wasn't prepared for it and in the moment couldn't understand what happened

Nah that wasn’t budget tough guy, you can see kazuya flinch from jab 1, but jab 2 just completely misses because riddles somehow ended up behind spargo, and he dies for it.
He did that when fighting Skyjay too, looked at him only for Skyjay to be dead focused lol
Riddles must've forgotten Plant's poison cloud can be reflected
kazuya’s reflector requires a dash in first which essentially renders the reflector useless bc not only does it have to be a criminally absurd fallout but you also have to run TOWARDS the projectile to reflect it. his reflector is essentially useless for the most part lol.
Does that increase the damage it inflicts? I mean, it already does a lot of damage by itself, so with Kazuya's reflector I can't Imagine how strong it could get

if Spargo went Cloud instead of Byleth he probably wins 3-0. Just a little cleanup after Plant lol
I prefer this type of matches, especially in a game that is basically not being character-balanced by the developers anymore.
I'm not saying Cloud is unbalanced, but some other characters are, and this limits them.

When you are playing a character that doesn't have a reflector, disjoint or counter (like the fgcs) spitooie is actually pretty good

Kazuya does have a reflector, funnily enough, and an absurdly strong one if it works... but it's not too great against projectiles like Ptooie.

I can only wonder if Kazuya's reflector kick would've come in handy to send all those Ptooeys and poison clouds back at Plant. I'm sure Riddles wrote that function out of his game plan because it's normally so impractical, but Plant's projectiles are so telegraphed, and would be serious threats going back to sender with multipliers.
against poison, definitely. against ptooie, that only really works when plant is using it while recovering high. otherwise the arc it's reflected at sends it above plant and then kaz gets dash attacked.
@@iknowwhereyoulive618 of course, but most of the time Spargo was flinging it was during his recovery anyway, so the venn diagram of "times Riddles can and should reflect Ptooey" was a near circle here

9:17 will someone explain this combo to me? I havent played competitively for a long time, is all of that combo true? Can you not tech when he nairs you to the ground? I swear I’ve seen some people escape it.
Im not too sure myself but my best guess is that there is some chance at escape. That and the combo execution has to be quite good for it to be a true 0-death.
Cannot tech the nairs. From my limited kazuya knowledge I think you can DI out of that second EWGF -> nair if you mix it up perfectly but im not sure
