    In the first two standing races Sam's reaction was slower than the GTI's driver. Sam's reaction for the second race was even slower than the first race, and you can see the result at the finish line. And in most of the angles shown the dig/start was cut out (except for the first angle of race 1 & 2). Each tenth of a second delay is a whole car length difference. Someone mentioned in the first race launch control wasn't even activated (no bouncing of the rev limiter).

    This race makes zero sense, if you watch the Elantra vs GTI race it was no contest, then you watch this and the Kona cant keep up. Yet all evidience out on the web shows there is very little difference between the Kona and Elantra. And the gti is also rated slower over the 1/4 than the Kona. So there is a real mess to this outcome and especially as compared to the Elantras race. You can look at other youtube content to see what I'm talking about.

    • @toddstevens8506
      @toddstevens8506 Před 2 lety +9

      Definitely, and they never mention which traction control settings are used. I have a mk8 GTI and you can use ESC off or ESC sport for launch control, the latter limiting how much wheelspin which is better on lower grip pavement. The explanation for not using manual mode was completely evasive and incorrect as this would take shift/downshifts out of the equation and most dual clutches auto-upshift which would simplify things. I think this could be a good channel if they would rationalize their procedures instead of half-assing it.

    The Kona still has the power to weight ratio advantage. I notice the Kona driver's reaction time is no better than the Golf's driver which can spell the difference.
