Should you buy one that fits near exactly the size of the mattress or one larger? For example, My mattress is approximately 11.5 inches deep, shall i buy the 9-12" or 12-15" for wiggle room?
We generally recommend washing the encasements quarterly after you are bed bug free - you don't want to take the covers off during the first year if you bought them during a bed bug infestation. You can wash with cold or hot water as long as you don't use bleach and as long as you dry on low heat. Make sure to follow those included care instructions.

I've seen some of those reviews, and they're all from people that don't understand what encasements are for. An encasement can't stop bed bugs from getting onto the surface of your bed - that's what sprays and interceptors are for. An encasement's job is to stop bed bugs from getting to the seams and folds of your mattress, and SafeRest covers are 100% effective at doing that. Think of it this way: if you're wearing a rain coat and the rain coat gets wet, is it ineffective? ;)
