    • @xezosakai2041
      @xezosakai2041  Před 4 lety +1

      Normally if you don't even have Bluetooth Audio that would mean your system literally has no Bluetooth Capability at all.
      Mercedes like to pull that kind of $$ games where you have to pick your options when the car is new so they will install the car with the options you want.
      Your best bet is go to the Mercedes Dealer to have add the bluetooth options for you through "whatever means necessary".

    • @xezosakai2041
      @xezosakai2041  Před 4 lety +1

      @@jennymuddyman3878 I am not a car mechanic so I can't confirm stuff like that.
      But I work in computer field a lot and I do know that manufactures as a whole do not like to change "BIOS menu items",
      so in this case with Mercedes "BIOS can be considered as Engineering mode".
      So if your menu is completely different that mean the car electrical component must be drastically different.
      There are product like Bluetooth Receiver with MMI interface that specifically only work for Mercedes 2011 and older.
      The problem with that is you have to buy the "old generation Bluetooth version below 5.0" or it won't work.
      new iPhone use Bluetooth 5.0, so eventually if you buy these adapter for $40-$50 it will stop working with your iPhone.
      Of course you can always bring to the Mercedes Dealer and have them enable to option for you for $200+
      If it is even possible.
      Last option is just buy a new Android Head Unit with Bluetooth and replace it yourself which will cost you $900-$1100 in parts.
      I do recommend just bring to the dealer, because they probably just do shady "1-2 click or unlock the firmware with backdoor scan tool, and make you wait 2 hours to make it look like it is very hard to give "Bluetooth Audio feature to the Luxury Car".
      Clearly my Mercedes 2011 has the "capability to use both Bluetooth phone and audio stream" feature. But the Bluetooth Audio stream feature was disable by default. Why?$

      I am not a car mechanic. But going with the logic with the assumption that your car is the same model as mine, then by logic it would have the audio aux.
      Unless the Mercedes system has a hardware detection that when it boot up it will detect working component that is connected to the board.
      Kind of like when your Graphic Card is bad, you then boot up your PC. It will not see your Bad Graphic Card.
      So with this case i would assume that your audio chip is bad/dead/defected.

      I know for sure Mercedes 2011 and Mercedes 2012 are different build.
      And your question is not clear so I am going to answer 2 question base on :
      Answer 1: If you want to use this video as a guide for Mercedes Benz 2012 e350, then no just go record yourself in a better lighting or something and would actually be proper tutorial for Mercedes Benz 2012.
      This video is original purpose is portray the struggle of the common people who know nothing about car. So it is not really ideal to spread it around like it is a great video.
      Answer 2: If you want to ask you can do this for your Mercedes Benz 2012 e350, then do what you want. It is not like you have a choice when it come to paying $ to Mercedes Dealer to activate Bluetooth stream feature for the car.

      Hello CCK Playground,
      I am assuming you already tried what I did on the video and it probably didn't look anything like this since your car is an S class and 2012.
      I am not a car mechanic, so I wouldn't know how to do it for your car.
      I remember during my research for 2011, I found out some after market Bluetooth receiver MMI adapter only compatible with certain year like from 2010-2011.
      And different Bluetooth receiver MMI adapter compatible with 2012-2016.
      Which mean that you might not even have the option to enable the feature manually without actually using Mercedes Scan tool to access the system for programming.
      Just call the Mercedes Dealer ask them for a quote. That way you have a price to haggle your local Mercedes mechanic.

      But regardless I am not a car mechanic, but I know software well enough to know that when they create program/software for anything. It always detect all the "hardware" at the the bios/dos level. It is not easy to redesign software for individual cars every year. It cost lot of money especially for Mercedes.
      If you don't see anything that exist in the original firmware/bios menu. It is not possible to update to software to enable a hardware Bluetooth feature.
      Like most old car, to get modern backup camera and Bluetooth technology would require a new aftermarket Android Stereo Deck to replace your current stereo deck, which obviously will come with Bluetooth stream feature.

      @xezosakai2041  Před 4 lety

      You have to first at least be able to pair Bluetooth to phone call before you can even attempt to Bluetooth stream audio.
      The Bluetooth phone call feature is by default enable when the car manufactured.
      That is why on the there is a Physical Call Answer Button and Call Hang up button on the car.
      So if you can't pair your phone to allow phone call through Bluetooth then you can assume 2 problem.
      1: Your phone has Bluetooth issue or not compatible with this Bluetooth on this 9 year old car.
      2. Your car Bluetooth is either busted or if you bought it used, some one could mess with the setting in engineer mode badly that they crash it.
      Which would require the dealer to reprogram the setting.
      3. You did not know that this model is only officially support iPhone 6 and 7.
      I was very lucky that it was able to support iPhone XS before and of course I have iPhone 11 Pro now.
      4. Of course since I already know that the latest iPhone 11 Pro work. So I am sure your iPhone must work unless you are using the Android phone.
      If you are using Android phone, I suggest you use an iPhone to confirm if it is the phone or the car issue.

      Sad to hear. You can always try to "cheat the Mercedes dealer by ask them for a quote to "enable Bluetooth Audio for your car."
      If they quote you only labor.
      That mean your Mercedes already has that feature but it is locked behind program scan tool.
      I am sure you going to have to accept the Mercedes quote whether you like to or not because you drive a Mercedes not a Honda.
