    Couldn’t agree more. X100V + WCL + TCL is an amazing kit, and the conversion lenses are really powerful and affordable. For a long time that was my only kit, and I’d happily go back to it.

    Yeah that 6MP crop still looks great! I’m curious about the WCL too now. I don’t love the idea of being stuck at 35mm so an x100V was never on my radar. But being able to swap to 28mm and 50mm so easily makes me rethink it.

    You brought up so many great points!!! I’ve been using the tcl since the x100t for paid portraits and it always worked, and yes the autofocus was a little slow and hit or miss, but I came from the original 5D with the 24-70 lens when the 5D was first introduced, so the slow focus was not an issue. But now with the x100v it’s lightning fast compared to the T and the images are absolutely beautiful. I’ve used it for individual client work, and high volume headshot work. Never failed me once, and I’ve gotten so many more people who absolutely love their images with the x100v than with the XT bodies with the 35 2.0. Although I think that lens is great too, there’s just something special about the images the x100v captures that are not as many with the XT bodies. I’m not sure if it’s the form factor that clients feel more at ease or what, but the x100v has sold me more prints than the others. In fact I’m just getting my living room cleared out to do a quick headshot for a friend with this camera! I love this combo so much. It’s been my primary for since the day the x100v was released.

      I enjoyed reading this. I think people who came from DSLR for work have a lot more grace and realize how spoiled we are with these mirrorless bodies. The only people I really see complain are: a) people who have only ever used mirrorless or iPhones and don’t have a reference b) CZcamsrs who want to make money by saying stuff that’s dumb c) people who pretend to know more than they do because they’re insecure.
      There is no bad camera coming out ever again - they’re all fantastic if you ask me

    I bought an X100V and WCL a couple of months ago and am very impressed with the results. I have considered getting the TCL, but I already have an X-T3 and the f2 primes. I wanted the X100V because some of the concert venues I visit won't allow interchangeable lens cameras. I used the X100V, along with the built-in crop feature, to photograph a concert last December and I was more than satisfied. I'm still considering the TCL because I tend to enjoy using the X100V more than the X-T3.

    Great video ! Am thinking about the X100V and already have the X100F. I Iove my F and hate the thought of no Dpad ! But your video is the best I've seen yet and especially on the conversion lenses. I've been thinking about them for my F and was wondering if the 1st version would work on the V because they are so much cheaper at times. Because I'll never get rid of my F, but I may get the V now too ! Thanks for the great informative video and the model was gorgeous too ! Subbed for sure ! LarryMac

      I'd like to see some videos of the camera and conversion lenses in use with portraiture and landscape and street. I'm very happy with my X100F , but I have to admit that I'm now considering the X100V for the 1st time thanks to his very detailed video. Will undoubtedly watch numerous times. LarryMac

      @@larrymccormick3226 I copped it last weekend and hit the streets right away. It's exactly what I expected from a 50mm. I shot landscape, portraits & streets and was thoroughly happy with the SOOC JPEGS. Most of my friend's use the X100F and I don't see any difference between the two outside of the minor upgrades like touchscreen, new film sim, etc. Personally, nothing worthy for me to switch over if I had the F. I would rather invest in the conversion lens.

    finally someone that makes sense, I might read other peoples opinions but I make my purchase decisions based on my own hands on experience , I have lots of gear right now basically from two brands, Fuji and Blackmagic, but the camera that's with me almost 100 percent of the time is my X100V with the tele converter, anyone that complains about the size of the camera please go back to shooting with your phone, after all they do a good job, my main camera is the 100S and I will never complain about its size, the only issue I have with the X100V so far and its probably only a concern to me is that I can't get the camera to tether to capture one

    Thank you for making this video, the TCL undeservedly gets far too little love and too much criticism. I've absolutely loved mine and haven't noticed any downsides yet especially with the size that everyone seems to rage about. The 90mm is my favorite Fuji lens and in comparison this feels tiny haha.

    I have an x100v and an xt4. What is the difference with the 35 f1.4? I'm interested in the equivalent 50mm focal length and having it on x100v with its flash characteristics tickles me

  • @cmar6268

    Great video as I commented before. I was wondering if you ever done a comparison of the images from an X100V with the TCL at 50mm with Leica Q2 cropped at 50mm, which as I understand , produces 15mp files at that crop compared to the x100v which produces 26mp. The X100V with TCL is about $1750 whereas the Q2 is about $5,500. It will be an interesting comparison!

    • @DeeRosa
      @DeeRosa  Před 2 lety +1

      I haven’t done a comparison because they’re going to look similar at similar focal lengths. If I were you I’d just research what print size I can make with certain MP counts and use that to make a decision. I don’t like Leica files and think their colors are over saturated so it hasnt been something I’ve cared to look at.

    Lately I've been thinking of selling my 35 1.4 to get the TLC, I'm only "worried" I won't be using it too much due to the size/weight, it looks like the x100v+tlc is kinda the same size as the x-t2 with the 35

    • @omerekici9835
      @omerekici9835 Před 2 lety

      It’s not worth giving up the 1.4. It’s a great combo with the X-T2. Or get yourself a X-T30 II/X-E4/X-Pro 2 if you want to go smaller.

    • @DeeRosa
      @DeeRosa  Před 2 lety +1

      Results vary man honestly. I like to compose my background with elements that tell a story so even when I take portraits that are paid me not having the 1.4 isn’t an issue and I learned how to use light well enough to where I don’t need the low light capability.

    • @omerekici9835
      @omerekici9835 Před 2 lety

      @@DeeRosa I meant with giving up the 1.4, the lens it self😅 I bought my self in the Fuji system again because of that lens. So it’s more sentimental with me. Renders also beautifully at f2. But yeah, you can’t go wrong with both of them.

    Good video. Hey Dee I respect your opinion But. The minute you add lenses to The already Grant Camera , any Fujifilm x100 series. The look changes, is not what it was supposed to be anymore. For that, we play with our interchangeable lenses devices. This camera as it’s. Is “A work of Art” in modern times tech. Keep the good reviews.

    • @DeeRosa
      @DeeRosa  Před 2 lety +5

      Eh. I don’t care much for looks and I prefer having a small body that can go anywhere that if I want to I can throw a lens on to get more reach. So I just deal with it. To each their own but I understand your point.
