- Just beyond the gates of Banff and Jasper National Parks is a beautiful natural area known as Nordegg. This region is well worth a visit for its fantastic hiking, camping, and waterfalls. One hike in particular, to the thundering Siffleur Falls, is worth a day trip to Nordegg all in itself.

It was so fun to have a true-blue day trip adventure again. It's been really yucky rainy weather here the last week, but we have a few more adventures coming up. I'm so excited! :)

Wow. It looks so small but makes a lot o noise. Pretty powerful waterfall.
It was a good one! That's part of why I was so 'mother hen' with my kids when we got closer to it. No one is surviving that fall. I couldn't believe how many people went under the safety rails!
That river and waterfall was no joke. Different level of falls than the one we just went to. So beautiful. Don’t want to fall in there!!! I would have done the same. Too scary with kids without rails. Great adventure!!!
They are super duper powerful, just because of how fast the river moves and how narrow the waterfall channel is. I was terrified of letting the kids too close!

Oh yes, would love to do that hike.. the best is always when you get to the end of the trail because all you'll see is the waterfall and the views!! Superb!
That fresh, cool spray from the waterfall sure helped to perk us all up too! It was well worth the climb and the hike! :)

They were crazy powerful! That's why I was freaking out when my kids would be leaning right up against the railing. I mean, falling down any waterfall would suck, but these ones were thundering! ;)

That's a long hike for kids, but yours did good. Must have been worth it to see those powerful falls. Alberta is really beautiful.
They baaaaarely made it back to the car, but they did make it! I'll pack more sugary snacks next time to give them that extra boost for the hike! ;)
That suspension bridge looked a bit intimidating. The scenery is just breathtaking. I can imagine it's more amazing in person. Oh so awesome you guys found a safer part to dip your toes!
I love suspension bridges, I find them thrilling (yet I feel 100% safe when I cross them). I like how you can see the river rushing beneath your feet. :)

I couldn't do the high bridge, but the river bridge was awesome. Fast water. Everything else was just amazing. Your photos and video angles are so cool. Nice job as always. Sparkle on!
The suspension bridge really isn't that bad. It swings a bit if you purposely make it move by swaying your body or jumping, but otherwise feels quite stable. I'm fully confident you could cross it! :)

These are definitely worth a visit - the hike is a little longer, so if you do plan to stop, make sure you give yourself lots of time to do it. :)

So great to see you guys out and about!! Looks like you had this place to yourself - great for social distancing. That suspension bridge looked scary and that canyon looked so cool.
It was actually quite busy - the parking lot was full when we arrived. But we came a little later in the day and by the time we were done, there only a handful of cars left. ;)

It was postcard perfect. Sometimes I think Banff and Jasper get all the hype, and yes, they are gorgeous, but Alberta has so many other fantastic places. I'm happy to share their stories! :)

Ha ha - suspension bridges aren't for everyone, but they are very safe. They just feel really unstable and you can see the river rushing beneath your feet, but it's all good! :) And you can feel brave once you've made it to the other side!

It's the kind of hike where the journey is almost better than the destination - the waterfall is incredible, don't get me wrong, but the views along the way are truly spectacular! Have a wonderful time! :)
thats really a great hiking experience because u took your kids with you. whats memory they won't forget growing up. this is the best learning for them as well. isn't it great that theyre touching the water in that beautiful and clean river? and they even tracked that long trail? good thing, the local government put up that safety fence to avoid accident in the waterfalls, thats so stunning, I can imagine how soothing that is when u are near that waterfalls. thanks for shairng this beautiful memories with your kids, hope to see more of your awesome trips! supporting here

We recently had a week of camping at Crimson Lake and my son and I took a trip to visit Siffleur Falls. You captured our experience very well and it provides a nice supplement to the photos I took. Great video!

Yes, a horrible tragedy occurred there earlier this week. It will re-open on August 17 I read. Please be safe if you do get to visit! :)

The river is running fast I was watching The Morning News and the upper Fraser is really moving along they said it might be some bad flooding this year they haven't seen since 1972
