- Hai!! I played the exact same Labrynth deck for every game from Rookie 2 to MASTER 1. Here are the replays.

Labrynth is such a cool deck! I love the playstyle so much. The biggest strength of the deck is that it doesnt lose to maxx c as much as other decks do, although it does lose harder to ash as a trade-off. The deck is solid against most rogue decks, and has a good matchup into spright and runick. The biggest problem right now is the Tear matchup. Tear is just too hard for Lab, since destroying their cards is never effective. Branded is also a hard matchup too. Lab is still a top tier choice, but its waiting for Tear to leave the format before it can really shine. (foreshadowing)
I do this every season with a different meta deck. Also it takes A LONG time to record and edit these, so if you like this idea then please consider subbing, it will make me smile. :)
I make these videos by creating a new master duel account. The gems you get from starting a fresh account and playing a festival or two usually gets you enough gems to make any single deck you want.

Some Explanations:
- Only 2 small welcome because big welcome is better, and the same copy of welcome comes back again and again.
- Only 2 Lady because its not essential to hard draw, and its not even that powerful against decks with strong engine. Cutting it to 2 makes room in the deck.
- Ash is solid in this deck since it makes the mirror match less horrible. It also covers branded, which is a bad matchup.
- Gamma loses all of its usual downsides in this deck since the furniture let you discard a dead gamma or driver. Also you sometimes end turn 1 without putting a monster on board. That being said, gamma sucks vs Tear, and that is probably enough reason to cut it.
- Eradicator is surprisingly bad. Its only in there to prevent evenly matched, and to help in the mirror. Most other times its not worth using.
- All 4 pots because consistency is a good thing. Also the plus 1 from Extravagance makes the furniture easier to use.
- The field spell is important in the mirror, also its nice to have another target for the furniture when you already have access to both traps.
- The furniture build is better than a more stun focussed build in my opinion. Evenly matched is not a strong card in the current format, and thats one of the main reasons not to play furniture. In future formats, it could be better to cut all the furniture and play more traps.
- 1 Clock because it doesnt play by itself.
- Dimensional Barrier is the best tool the deck has to combat Tear and Branded.
- Compulse is a generic normal trap that always works. It was underwhelming and probably worth cutting. Punishment is solid.
- Magna and Druis are crazy in this deck. They help against Tear, and can be bounced back to your hand in order to reuse their effects.
- Rivalry and Skill Drain are needed because the deck is often not strong enough to meet Tear or Branded, or even sometimes Spright, on their own terms, so stunning them is an easy win. Rivalry is pretty much the only way to still win a game after Tear does a full combo.
- The only important cards in the extra deck are Muckracker and N'tss, so 3 of each makes sense. The rest of the cards are extremly situational and hardly ever come up, but you might as well play some number of them since theres nothing better to fill the extra with.
- Dingirsu cool. Zeus staple.
- Bucephalus and Garura = a draw.
- The synchros are intended to be a blowout for when you chain gamma to your opponents ash on extravagance.
- Other options you could fill these slots with are: Bagooska, Psychic End Punisher, Scareclaw Tri-Heart, Underworld Goddess, Wind Pegasus, Spright Elf + Gigantic. The fossil monsters also make good budget options.
- This list doesnt include the Ishizu Shufflers, but it probably should. Those cards are great discards for the furniture, and it punishes Tear for milling you. My updated list has put them in.
- Ice Dragons Prison is a much better option than compulse.
- Overall i think Lab is super solid. When Tear gets hit again, its going to be even better. The ability to comfortably survive a maxx c is a really good quality for a competitive deck.
- I dont think the exact list is important, since its a trap deck with a more reactive gameplan. Lab is at its best when its card choices are unexpected.
- Also the mirror sucks ass.
Do you mind explaining why Gamma is bad vs tear? Also I agree with the struggles against Branded one of the decks that’s been difficult to put unless I get optimal hand traps. I had to drop D barrier since it’s a dead card outside of the meta or mirror which is highly played and went with 2 impermanence instead. Felt Rivalry was a brick as well if the matchup didn’t require it.
@@answering248 I dont like gamma vs tear because where are you supposed to use it if its your only handtrap? The best time is on the gy effect of a tear after they normal reino. Its just a worse bystial because it doesnt banish the card, and puts nothing on board.
@AprilShowerz hmm to be fair I do run a hand trap heavy build since I feel like it’s east to get into the Lab engine and I don’t trust winning coin toss majority of the time. I haven’t had an issue with the tears I’ve faced so far, I just downloaded Master Duel last week so the highest rank I got was Plat 1 before reset (was almost Diamond 🙃) so I probably have to experience the things you mention since I’m not too sure what cards hard counter them yet. I heard Ash was a hard hit for Branded but the always seem to play around it, another deck I don’t truly understand yet is Floowandereeze. Kinda learned the Traptrix matchup buts that’s a tough one as well. Idk if you give pointers on deck building but I could show my list through discord if you don’t mind.

Amazing video. I just got back into MD and have started building Lab too. Does it still do well in this current meta? Also, is your list still useable? Or should I try something different.
lab is still a top deck. you can play a similar build, theres a lot out there.
It late but what would you recommend card to replace the third copy of pot of extra since the card is now limit to 2?
i wouldnt replace it at all, the deck would be built different all together. For example the bystials arent as important now that tear is gone. ill be making a new list soon.

It took a few days to climb, and then a few days to edit. I use OBS to record since its free, and my editing program is Wondershare Filmora.

@@AprilShowerz Pardon me, what is your advise on Labrynth going against Mathmech and Runick?
@@jessiebessie3616 Runick can be a hard matchup, but mathmech shouldnt be too hard. Against mathmech i would try holding my destructions for later rather than sooner, you never know how many extenders they drew, and they only need 2 or 3 to otk. Against runick i would suggest playin Terrors of the Overroot. Its a good counter to fountain.

Now that Chaos Angel is out, you gonna add it? Also how do you feel about the pots with kashtira in the mix? Feels so bad to use them against Kash.
Yes, chaos angel is now the most important card in the extra. you could honestly play 3. and yeah im still playing all the pots. usually they are the first thing you use, so fenrir has no target, and unicorn doesnt matter.
@@AprilShowerz im playing it at 2, but only bc im conserving ur cp. And what really makes the pots risky is diablosis. More ammo for it. Also thoughts on set-up in the event? Been really good for me
@@wubwubdododo5656 I havnt looked at it too much since i dont normally play them. I normally use a loaner for the gems and thats it. Theres actually some challenger cup tournaments for the light and dark event, so maybe ill look into a good lab list.
@@AprilShowerzchaos angel is fun, but I’ve been trying to figure out a way to fit chaos arch fiend into my lab deck too, since chaos archfiend turns into a 4500 beatstick that if removed by card effect can instantly special summon chaos angel and banish another monster.

Not a fan of lab, but big fan of you. I play branded often and I seem to struggle with lab in Master Rank going second.
If they get dimensional barrier in rotation, it's pretty tough, but if it's not set up definitely feel like lab gets ran over.
