Imagine taking a big twin Harley with a Milwaukee H motor off-road racing and winning. Not possible today but possible back then. Riders Were Real Men Back Then. They were tough as the motorcycles that they rode.
Hearing that brought me back to my childhood, was the same sound that let me know dad was home from work. That bike is the start of something beautiful....
Very cool. Back out in the snow!
Wow, so much material shot out of the exhaust!!
Lots of mouse nest I'm sure
I know the bike well. It belonged to a friend of mine "Bubbles" who lived on JB just west of 45 on the north side of the road. Bubbles and his wife Dorthey belonged to the Flying Disc Motorcycle Club. Raced against him many many times but never beat him. Great to see it almost untouched. Please get ahold of me and I can share its stories. You must have got it from his relative to get the picture of Bob Ice racing on Eagle Lake!
Amazing!! Please email me! CamsMachineLLC@gmail.com
@@CamsMachine Wow, that's cool!
She lives!
Right on , she's got a lot of promise!
A dirt bike with a crash bar excellent.
That's one cool bike, I think keeping it as is makes the most sense for sure.
The beginning of the video I was thinking to myself, it's that damn shirt! About that time you took it off and she let you get to Second base.
thats so cool - cant wait for part 3!
We are going to launch this bike off a jump in part 3 😂
I would spend the winter getting a lot of restoration work into it. I dont care about a "Race Bike" I would want it on the roads where it belongs.
I am 100% preserving the history of this bike as a race bike. I’ll be posting more stock panhead videos soon, but this bike is not changing at all.
Glorious! They always start on the last kick, eh? Weird.
Glad to see you’ve got it up and running. Noticed after you fired it up in the yard that it’s revving up slowly after you cracked the throttle. It’d be a good idea to see if the advance weights are stuck in the distributor or hanging up, not a big deal to clean them up and add a little bit of oil to the pivots. I didn’t notice any lean pop while it was on the lift but did hear quite a bit of valve train clatter,be a good idea to check the pushrod adjustment. I’m assuming it still has a Linkert carb, they work really well on a mild engine. I learned after a few of them to take the time to lap the mating surfaces in on the intake to carb though. It can be done fairly easily with a sheet of wet/dry sandpaper glued to a pane of glass using spray adhesive. Got a stack of window panes with paper from 220 grit all the way to 1500. Just a little bit of money and time but the results are phenomenal on all sorts of mating surfaces. Recently used them for my buddies 38 John Deere A cylinder head that I’d rebuilt and solved his issues with the tractors cold water leak.
Just wanted to pass on a couple of tips that have helped me out over the decades. Good luck with your Pan and look forward to seeing more on your Knuckle. Stay warm up there. 👍
Lovely old bike. Was very nice watching you getting it started. Enjoy your videos. Thanks man!
It’s the carburetor. gonna need to clean that out.
Obviously fired up just remember where those knobs are turned count how many rotations take notes and when you put it all back together and put it all back the same. And if you’re shoving starter fluid in it you know it’s the carburetor.
sounds like the timing is late
You definitely have some carburetor issues not ignition. Just keep track of where the adjustments are set at, clean the carburetor and put the settings back to where they are now.
I agree....and would suggest a decent CV carb....and that timing....
Doesn’t wheels through time in Maggie Valley. Have a jack pine razor also
Hell ya
Super cool bike! What are your plans for this one? Glad you got her running again, she deserves it 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, my plan is to get it to start easier and take it off jumps.
