- This summer I visited Aieta because I was searching for a village for the 33000 euro Calabria incentive. I found a beautiful calm village with a sea view on the north side of town. Only 15 minutes from Praia a Mare and 25 from Scalea, Calabria.
I was happy to spend the afternoon touring this hilltop village while enjoying the fresh air.
If you haven't heard I bought a ruin in Sambuca of Sicily. • I won a 1 euro home in...
There's a ton more that is going to happen in Sambuca and I want you to be a part of it. Please sign up to receive more information about how you can help the community of Sambuca during our 1 euro home remodel project.

Another fascinating village. So curious about the many untold and interesting stories of the people who used to occupy those ruins and/or abandoned homes. As always, you taking us to these winding, ancient cobbled roads and unpredictable steps that lead to eternity, give us a raw perspective of the less path taken and hidden gems of Italy. I wish Aieta prosperity and more businesses for the locals in the near future.
Happy to do so. It gives me an excuse to be creative while out and about! Thanks for always watching!
We just love Aieta. It has such a calm and beautiful feel to it and the views are so spectacular there. Aieta and Tortora are two of my favorite hill towns in our Riviera dei Cedri. Both are spectacularly beautiful with amazingly lovely people. I remember one afternoon in Tortora, I bought. bottle of water and tried and tried and could not get it open. Finally one of a group of men who were watching me in the piazza said "Give it her" and he tried as well. He failed and it was passed around until someone finally got it open. It was a huge win for all of us! A cheer went Wonderful times. I hope you come again this Summer Dave! Pete will be with me and we will make sure we can go scouting together!
Great story! I plan on it! So many places to see and explore. Always more fun with a friend!
. . . the stone 'n brick Arches and that brilliant Blue Sky are just "to die for" . so beautiful . Can't wait to see some of the drone footage, that you were setting up for, at the end of this video : ))
It was a great day to be alive that day! haha Good times. I often wish I could share every detail. But that would make for a 2 hour video.. You think people would want to watch that?
Beautiful places Italy 🇮🇹 is a dream
So tranquil and beautiful.
I happen to like the Music you chose "deep house" and "chill" . ... perfect for this new motif / fast-past (but yet, still very relaxing) walking-tour style of video. The scripted commentary is quit fun and witty !
Keep these type of video coming.
Glad you like it! It's always a challenge choosing music that everyone likes.
Great video, thanks! All of these Calabrian hill towns are full of hidden treasures and amazing views. True story: we once got our rental car stuck on our "street" between two buildings in Maierà. Even after measuring to be sure we'd fit. Sigh, lesson learned!! Looking forward to following your Sambuca adventure!
I almost attempted that same thing in Umbria... Fortunately, I opted to back down the hill instead.. haha Thanks for sharing your story!
My Great Granfather is of aieta, and is beautiful town medieval what I hope to meet you this year🇦🇷🇮🇹! Thank u for this video
What a beautiful town, like always David you show us the best! Truly the chickens does have the best view, but the mountain range and sea view is breathing. There seem to be a few 1 € homes available, thank you another great video !
Happy to help! There are only 7345 more villages to go!
@@DauvO That is not allot, 🤣🤣🤣.
I expect to be looking for a place in Sicily or southern Italy within the next 18mo…..love your vids
thanks! Always looking for ways to improve. What do you think?
Davo I was thinking a year ago by the time I get there all the house's will be sold , but maybe some will be left for me.. your videos have brought me such joy , please continue thanks davo merry Christmas
If you are looking for a ruin.. there will always be something available haha. . But you shouldn't worry. The market always has its ups and downs
Beautiful
ya! I really enjoyed how connected to the hills it was
Thanks again a lovely town, it’s a shame that the Mayor has not arranged maintenance of the streets for the older part of the town where some people are still living around the ruins
I expect to be moving to Sicily or southern Region of Italy within the next 18mo
Good luck! If you end up in Calabria, check out Praia a mare's beach!
The back of the town view is beautiful, but the town itself is depressing, I wouldn't want to walk those streets every day no matter the mountain views.
Put in CZcams:
