    Excellent breakdown JP, Looking forward to getting a few of these for my return to fishing next year. I've never been a big spender on rods and reels so I love the trickle down from the higher end models. With the exposure to the elements on the Kayak and the risk of losing one overboard, it hurts a lot less when they're under that $300 per combo price point.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  Před 2 lety

      You have lots of options for that one when it comes to which series to pick. Shimano has a bunch of saltwater spinning rods in various price ranges but I really also like using freshwater rods for reds and trout as the actions are perfect. I would pick a 7-7'6" medium power that has fast action to help with casting accuracy to pair with that 3000 Nasci. The new Curado 7' medium spinning rod is incredible.

    shimanos sucks nowadays. Daiwa is much better, heavier but more durable.

    More plastic overpriced crap. I bought a vintage Abu Garcia cardinal spinning reel at an antique shop for 25 bucks. Made in Japan. All metal frame, rotor, sideplate, and handle. At least 30 years old and still works fine. A shimano Stella won't even last that long. A Stella won't even last 15 years. Old school reels were made to last. I don't need fancy crap to catch fish
