(So really, if Joss had just been happy with late renewal, we probably would've gotten at least another season of Angel. The low ratings was probably just from the fallout of how spectacularly they destroyed multiple characters in season 4. Cordelia, Connor... And then there's the whole of the AI gang who changed in S5 because of not remembering what happened to Connor in S3 (mostly "Sleep Tight" and it's fallout)... S5 was barely recovering the show from that, so S6 probably would've been even better. So if Joss had been a bit more patient, the network most likely would've renewed Angel.

isn't this from a C-Band feed? we need some more cast interviews (Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Charisma Capenter, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan) especially the ones from season 2!
I like how circumventive he is about exactly how his movie went from being a dark horror to a comedy...Donald Sutherland used his clout to change it to his liking and since JW wasn't 'established' yet in Hollywood, all he could do was steam. The series is what JW really wanted for the movie.
I'd rather say that movie "The cabin in the woods" by Joss is a tribute for "Buffy". Characters, story line, monsters and the organization that tries to save the world by serving a god are incredibly similar to the series. I love all Avengers an Loki so much that I realize that they are completely independent and original characters based on comic books and Joss's imagination:)

I know David was discovered by this show. I know the whole story but Joss has to be kidding! The female production staff was swooning over him in his audition. How could he imagine the fans wouldn’t adore him?
@4:05 "It was very important that Buffy be the kind of girl that girls could look up to and relate to..." It was perfect. (Did have some failings in the rape-joke, non-slayer-female-empowerment area, though.) I didn't catch them when I was younger.
I will be always grateful Joss for such fantastic, EPIC show. More than 10 years, and I am still a huge fan and love to rewatch the show from time to time. Wow, Sara can speak VERY fast:)). But adore her anyway.
High school in places like California and NYC are different than just "regular typical high school" Joss. High school in Michigan wasn't like that at all...I went to high school at Dearborn high too and it's a very nice suburban town that could be anywhere
I loved this series so much and thought that having a female hero to look up to was the greatest thing in the world, finally a girl that could kick ass and save the day. the Buffy the vampire slayer series will always be one of my favorite series and Sara MIchelle Gellar will always be my favorite heroine, Joss Whedon is a Genius in what he creates and what he did when he created BTVS!^_^
The moment when you look at Baby Joss Whedon here and he's already accomplished more than you ever will. And that's fine because it gave us this wonderful show.

@@sgtgigglesYes, I think we can. Because it were a few people that had something negative to say compared to all of the cast and crew people that also were there through the years. Joss has always been open and pretty direct in his speaking. A quality that is needed as a writer. I understand that not every person can take that kind of openess and that is okay. Also Joss must have been under constant pressure which must have resulted in a shorter fuse at a rare occasion. There were signs of burn out too, which should not be ignored.

I wish we had more people who are so dedicated to their work, that they'll make an amazing show like this. I hate the shows/movies we have now a days. lol
You wrote this comment 12 years ago and TV shows nowadays just got even worse
@@naimasophie Omg...you're so right. the movies coming out are so often just remakes too. I don't like to go to the movie theaters anymore and that's my fave thing ..the experience. it's unfortunate.
It was my favorite movie in my childhood.I remember, when i came back home from school, in hurry I tried to find the exact channel where it was this unforgettable ,cool movie .
movie? this was the series
@@Kapa1337 yes,right,series.
HEATHERS!!! OMG that made me love Joss even more!
Thankyou all for sharing 😊
Really neat! I actually like Angel series more though, pity it was ended before it was supposed to.
David needs to grow his hair back out. That longer, messy look is SO sexy. It would look awesome on his character on Bones. ;)
He should also keep his hair & eyebrows darker, he’d look younger, but more mature…wasn’t he in his mid 20s when they 1st started filming BTVS?
Joss Whedon succeeded in making me speak like the characters, I've been watching the show over and over for 5 years and i can't stop speaking like them. I honestly don't know where i end and Buffy begins :P
This is great! Thanks for sharing. I used to love watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
that's cuz he gained some weight on angel, so he looked older. sometime during the run of the show, he had knee surgery so he couldnt work out anymore.
Never seen this before. I'm really happy to see it.
I loved this show so badly!!! it was the best teen show ever! full of surprises and very funny... i cried several times especially when she had to kill Nagel after he got his soul back, when Angel left to LA... great great great show!!!!!!!!!!
I love David's little smirk at 11:24:
"...I probably will turn bad"
I agree with Luke. Sarah, you are wrong. Buffy IS the Prettiest girl in the school. Especially in season one.
In season 1 she was 16yo…isn’t it a bit inappropriate to talk abt a teen girl in this manner?
@@miracraigfan1738 She was 19 - as if it matters.
isn't this from a C-Band feed? we need some more cast interviews (Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Charisma Capenter, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan) especially the ones from season 2!
take a shot everytime Joss says "um"
+Onibaku33
*stumbles in drunkness*
LOL so true!
*Dies*
33 Productions I'll rather not die
I like how circumventive he is about exactly how his movie went from being a dark horror to a comedy...Donald Sutherland used his clout to change it to his liking and since JW wasn't 'established' yet in Hollywood, all he could do was steam. The series is what JW really wanted for the movie.
I'd rather say that movie "The cabin in the woods" by Joss is a tribute for "Buffy". Characters, story line, monsters and the organization that tries to save the world by serving a god are incredibly similar to the series.
I love all Avengers an Loki so much that I realize that they are completely independent and original characters based on comic books and Joss's imagination:)
her speech is very good
7:24 settles the discussion on another video of Sunnydale’s location. It is NOT Sunnyvale in Northern California.
(Now, if I can only find that other discussion to link to this.)
(*sighs* and wipes glasses)
i was 9 when this came out and i can't believe it's been this long since buffy!? when i thnk of btvs i'm like oh that was 5yrs ago or so lol. she was my hero and role model growing up and still is. i think sarah michelle gellar is the only actor i'd geek out at if i got to meet her lol
David Boreanaz has barely aged in the past 17 years. He doesn't look much different actually.
I know David was discovered by this show. I know the whole story but Joss has to be kidding! The female production staff was swooning over him in his audition. How could he imagine the fans wouldn’t adore him?
The show. "Helpless" is the name of the episode I believe.
I started the series because I though it was the movie coming on,little did I know I would fall in love with Buffy and the Scooby gang!!!❤❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹
@4:05 "It was very important that Buffy be the kind of girl that girls could look up to and relate to..." It was perfect. (Did have some failings in the rape-joke, non-slayer-female-empowerment area, though.) I didn't catch them when I was younger.
What do you mean?
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the algorithm brought this clip up now.
It's makeup for an episode she was doing for Buffy. "help" i believe was the name of the episode.
Very interesting, not the usual where the interviewer loves to hear themselves talk. Thanks!
High school in Michigan wasn't like that at all...I went to high school at Dearborn high too and it's a very nice suburban town that could be anywhere
ugh, i was at a party where a guy said that joss whedon was overrated. i verbally smacked him down.
I loved this series so much and thought that having a female hero to look up to was the greatest thing in the world, finally a girl that could kick ass and save the day. the Buffy the vampire slayer series will always be one of my favorite series and Sara MIchelle Gellar will always be my favorite heroine, Joss Whedon is a Genius in what he creates and what he did when he created BTVS!^_^
really miss this show :(
This looks like a good show, looking forward to the premier of the second season!
2013 now and i still watch it...happy 16th birthday Buffy Premiere..you can now be a vampire slayer
2013 Here. And I miss this Show so bad too..
2017 and still missing it here...
Who's here after the interview with him smh
Joss is genius
The moment when you look at Baby Joss Whedon here and he's already accomplished more than you ever will. And that's fine because it gave us this wonderful show.
And then we find out what he’s been doing to his casts all these years😭😭😭.
@@sgtgiggles I understand the emotions you might feel, but reading Joss' interview and having met the man myself a few times, I strongly get the impression that the real truth is somewhere in the middle. To me he has always been humble.
@@MirellaDerks it’s sadly corroborated by multiple movie/show casts. Idk, I don’t think we can defend this one
@@MirellaDerks but it wasn’t a few people. It was a great many people through multiple casts and writers
this is so great! I love this show today and watch pretty much once a year. Including Angel. :) But Sarah "Talk about blowing a job..." tallk about not thinking about what your saying. haha.
What do you mean ?
Yeah I saw this back in the day but it is a great interview - it was a really great intro to Buffy for people who were new to the show or didn't know/watch it at the time.
this seems so different now that we know what happened
I wouldn't say that the later seasons are ones that parents could watch with their children!! Season 1 especially was a very different vibe to the rest of the series...
This was the helpless episode ♡😊
JOSS IS A GOD!
"I was a pathetic loser in high school"
NO! NONONONONO! YOU ARE A GOD SIR!
THANK YOU FOR CREATING THE LEGACY OF BUFFY
