  • What does a Leica and a disposable Kodak point and shoot have in common?
NOTHING ... unless you slap a disposable lens onto the front of it and take some pics.
Today we will see how a disposable lens looks on a Leica and how it stacks up against a real Kodak disposable camera!.

Its official guys, kodak disposable is better than leica!

  • @CollectionOfJunk

Part of the difference with the disposable lens is it's designed to project onto a slightly concave curved film plane. So the fun saver can compensate for the simple optics that aren't corrected for a flat film plane

  • @OrangeBrick8

Wow. I actually watched Caleb’s video first.

  • @SnowmansApartment

the film plane is curved in those disposable cameras, so it‘s to be expected that the lenses do not project onto a flat but curved plane, which will result in less sharp images on the leica compared to the disposable.

  • @FourIntoOne

Caleb.- came to this channel Via Jason's. For the last couple of times I have been watching yours first. Thought you should know that 👍

  • @Shmooexe3440

Low opinion? off you? Dude you was the soul reason I picked up film photography! Your old videos are a huge core memory. Thank you so much for your hard work, and thank you even more for introducing me to this wonderful experience !

  • @adrianemikko

What if… a disposable camera with a Leica lens 🧐

  • @__Lento__

now we need to see a leica lens on a disposable ;)

  • @thevoiceman6192

Interesting how the funsaver photos were almost all better than a leica. Thanks for the experiment. I use disposables all the time

  • @yolklab

The portrait of Lauren is marvelous, which now reminds me of that episode, where you were both sitting at a pier, Lauren looking splendid, and what did you take a picture of? A seagull! 📸

  • @Pollock.iconoclast

Fun stuff! Goodness, just shot last weeks vacation on disposables for the first time since I was a kid and waiting for my c41 kit to come in from freestyle. Normally a 4x5 darkroom print guy but this time the funsaver was just right.

Super fun vid, and I totally forgot about Freestyle! Great source for film stuff.

  • @LaFuenteOnFilm

Intro was crazy 🤣 seems like a fun camera for just having on the go!

  • @johnger850305

Glad I found this channel this morning.

  • @1331photo

What a cool experiment! Nice work Caleb! 😎👍🏻

  • @MrSimonj1970

An accidental ad for the Fun Saver!

  • @ricleeson

this is so interesting with the focal distance and focus to inifinity, i have the Keks lens in ltm mount and apart from soft fringing its really sharp to infinity in the centre, ive tried it on l mount with adapter on digital and on leica iiia on 35mm and its been a great fixed f10 28mm option

  • @DispoLens

This made me laugh so hard! Thank you for the AMAZING feature. I'll definitely work on the max focus distance of the Leica Version. I am constantly working on improving all my DispoLens Lenses.

  • @gewglesux

    Pretty cool experiment!!! Lauren's lovely!!
