- The 2ft narrow gauge Burma Mines Railway provides a public service with converted Hino Lorries from Wallah Gorge to Namtu in the Shan state, Myanmar / Burma. On its journey from the mine to the city the train runs around the famous spiral.
Umgebaute Hino-LKW verkehren als öffentliche Personenzüge auf der 610-mm-Schmalspurbahn der Burma Mines Railway von Wallah Gorge nach Namtu in Myanmar / Burma . Auf der Fahrt von der Mine zur Stadt passiert der Zug die berühmte Spirale.

My mother is from Burma. They left the country the night there was a military coup back in the very early 1970s. They were lucky because they were high up so they knew what was going to happen. They left everything behind and had to start again in Australia. My grandfather was lucky enough to know people here and was given a job. They were the few lucky ones who could afford to leave. Whenever my mother tells me the story she always sais "you could hear the tanks rolling down the streets that night." It's something that probably terrified her. Thank God for a country like Australia.

This is officially one of the coolest looking rail vehicles I've seen. I love this sort of effective ingenuity that you see in the third world, splicing together scrap metal, antiquated vehicles, and industrial machinery into reasonably functional creations.

@@maazkalim The third world is often thought of as an insult, but it's simply a way of referring to countries that do not align with the historic cold-war east-vs-west capitalist-vs-communist power blocs, IE Russia and China etc as one world, America and Western Europe etc as the other world. So you have those 2 worlds, and countries not in those worlds are the "third" world. That doesn't inherently indicate something negative.
I am aware of the etymology of the term..
...However, we have to consider here-&-now..
...So here, when anybody invokes it - it is nothing more than 'world-rankism'( you sound critical-thinking enough to understand what I'm conveying).

It reminds me of my country ( Indonesia) with the same rail way and train conditions 70 to 80 years ago. That is documented in the railway history.

Now, I understand the older people having such mobility skills, having to get up and down that damned truck. Never seen such a narrow gauge rail tracks. Ingenuity at its best, as always, and we never see this in the travel brochures.

Yo look at all these amazing people , going around being productive and getting shit done ....while I am not allowed to even take a step outside my house without an escort or permission. I'm so envious of people who can go around and do this . It's my own country but I'm so ignorant because of being cooped up in my house like house arrest since young😭😭😭😭. Even if I can go out nowadays I would be blur as hell and it would be so embarrassing not knowing how to do basic things at my age in public . I can only learn more by watching videos of other people going around living life . Thanks for the content dude. I seriously appreciate it.
