So sick! Love this Video!
I love the product! Thank you!!!! I didn't know if anyone at Carven Inc would ever see this. This makes my day!!!
Yes I enjoyed watching your video. They were short and informative.
I always appreciate the watch, like, and subscribe!!! Thank you for your feedback. I love making these videos and tinkering with the Tundra.
I just installed the carven R on my 2004 gt and it sounds phenomenal. Great video by the way
Thanks, man! Yes, Carven knows what they're doing. I hope to get a sponsorship from them once the channel is big enough.
Man you were not lying. Installed on my 2017 Tundra today and it is sick as F💪
No lies 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watch and the like, man! It's a huge help for the channel.
Now, I drive around for no reason, just to hear the exhaust. Someone needs paperclips? No problem. I'll go and buy some ... anything to hear and drive the truck!!! 🤣🤣
I really love the Toyota Tundra, I'm from the United States you know.
Tundras are great trucks!!! Thanks for watching the video. Much appreciated.
Great video. My mind is now made up on which muffle I'm going to put on my 2016 Tundra. I was wondering if you had a video of the exhaust sound from a cold start? Cause we all know on a cold start how Tundras like to rev kind high. Thanks
Thanks for watching.
1) That clip from 1:40 of the video is a semi-cold start. The truck had been off for 4 hours.
2) At 3 min and 53 seconds of my "Muffler Delete Mistake" video, you'll hear a cold-start with the Carvens on the truck!
3) There is a cold start in one or two of my shorts.
Enjoy ... I always do!
@1:40 - this is what convinced me to go with Carven R for my Tundra (back up choice was the Corsa). Reminds me of the Challenger from 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Thank for checking out the video.
Yeah, I definitely notice a spike in the video views around that sound-test.
I should really talk to Carven about a sponsorship. I've had 12 people (so far) tell me thst they bought Carven mufflers after watching one of my exhaust videos.
I went with the 8” bamuffler and love it, but sometimes I wish it was just a touch more😬
That's how I felt about the Borla Touring Catback Exhaust. Good, but missing a little something.
Thanks for watching!!!!
I’m subbed! How much quieter is the carven are compared to the straight pipe? And how much of a difference is the borla to carven?
Hey, man!!! Thanks for the sub 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. That's a HUGE help for the channel.
Instead of me telling you the difference, you'll love hearing it for yourself! Check out 0:48, 1:40, and 3:16 of the video. Those spots will definitely answer your question!!! Let me know what you think.
Trucks sounds great bro. Question tho, how loud or noticeable is the drown in the cabin? I’m thinking about getting an exhaust for my tundra
Thanks for watching the video, man!!! Much appreciated. The answer to your question is at 3:16 of this video. I think you'll like the answer!
The sound is very good (on the video), how is the “drone” with the Carven’s?
Thanks for watching the video, man.
There's no drone with the Carven's. They're perfect!
Agreed I have them on my 06 mustang gt an I'm about to get a tundra so I may with them again
They sound great, don't they?!?!?
If you're getting a Tundra, you gotta throw them on (especially since they're one of the relatively cheaper mods)!
Thanks for watching 👊🏾
Looking to get their kit for my 2017 Tundra and this sold me on it.
@@jeffmerz3595 No drone issues. The Carvens took care of that. In the video I mention that the muffler-delete was very loud with lots of drone, but the Carvens eliminate the drone while still allowing the truck to sound like a monster.
Hey man did you notice a difference in fuel mileage/ performance and did you get it tuned... run better worse or same.. good content
Between the cold air intake and the duel exhaust, I do feel a boost in HP, but I have no real way to measure it.
With the cold air intake, fuel mileage actually goes UP, if you drive the truck normally (which I don't). 🤣🤣🤣
Well I watch this video latest 4 times and I went ahead and bought them but I think I’m going to
Put an x pipe on mine truck sounds good and looks good I have the same truck and color too
Thanks for the multiple views, man! Much appreciated.
Make that truck your own. I'm sure that it will sound and look great!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Hey man, I just got the “R” Series true dual installed on my ‘24 Suburban. They installed the mufflers with the “Carven” logo facing the driver’s side. Did they install it backwards?
Thanks for checking out the video.
There really isn't a forward end and backward end with the mufflers. As you can see in my video, the inside of the muffler is basically hollow, except for that perforated ring. Whether that ring is at the front or the back would mostly NOT make a difference. I think you'll be good.
I hope that makes sense.
I bought new 2021 tundra, looking to throw carven on pretty soon, its been stock for long enough lol
Great video thanks. Do you have stock catalytic converters on there?
Thank you!
Yes, the stock cats are still on there, but in the future, I may upgrade to some high-flow aftermarket cats.
You think with true dual and these mufflers, it’s not too loud for the neighbors or while just taking it to the store for errands? I want to add some throat to mine but not so much it’s annoying. Currently have a pro that is supercharged and TRD dual, possibly swapping out mufflers only like you did… just want the drone gone and not be a jerk around town lol
Hey, William.
Thanks for watching the video!! HUGE help.
I think the Carven mufflers (or similar mufflers) are perfect. Your truck will still sound like boss when you start it, or when you open up the throttle (going uphill or passing another vehicle). At the same time, you get a deep, low grumble that you can still have a conversation over. Best of both worlds.
The muffler-delete was just loud all of the time. With these high-flow mufflers, the truck is loud when I want it to be and not loud when I don't want it to be. You don't necessarily have to switch to a duel exhaust. You can just replace your current muffler with a Carven muffler (using a Y-adapter). It will sound great. 👍🏾
This has been one of the most enjoyable mods for me. I think you'd enjoy it as well.
I hope that my answer helped.
@@toyotaFANatic81 def helps, I appreciate your feedback and input… it’s one of those things I wanted to make sure what I was getting into ahead of time, but I think you just paved the way for me. Enjoy your day and keep posting videos of your mods, nice work so far!
I appreciate your feedback, man. There's more to come (whether people like it or not 🤣🤣🤣).
I'm glad that other people can skip the mistakes that I made.
did you get the 2.5 or the 3 inch mufflers from carven?
Thanks for watching! I got the 3" Carvens. When you take your to thr shop, the mechanic should have (or easily be able to find) an adapter to fit it to the rest of your system.
Did you join any of the Tundra crew, lifted tundra, etc on fb group? You should join and post up your build
Hey, man! Thanks for watching the video. Actually, I posted this particular video to Tundra Crew and Canada Tundra Crew on Facebook.
I'm on a few of the Tundra FB pages, but as of late, I've been really turned off by them. You show a modification or improvement to your vehicle and a bunch of trolls come out of the wood-work and bombard your post with silly or useless comments and insults.
I know that if you put something out publicly, you're exposing yourself to criticism. I'm absolutely cool with that. At the same time, it gets very tiresome reading comments about "you should've done this," or "why did you do that?"
So ... I make fewer posts on those pages now.
@@toyotaFANatic81 ahah you know 90% of the people in those groups are broke.. that's why they all have an opinion but not the money to do it on their own truck so they want to tell some one else how to build theirs..ahaha I think your video is awesome and actually goes into depths on the pros and cons of the exhaust system vs everyone else's video just showing them reving it a few time once they installed a new exhaust. Keep them videos coming...I have a very special/unique tundra also that I've been super low key on but after this year I'll finally let the world see it..
Crewmax 8ft long bed/ supercharge/ 19" lift/
Wow, man! Your truck sounds like a BEAST!!! Thanks for your feedback on the video.
So you mounted it with the C facing the engine and the N facing the rear of truck?
Thanks for checking out the video.
That is the way the mechanic mounted them (I had the job done at a shop). Also, the muffler says "Carven" on both sides (running in opposite directions), so you wouldn't mount it based on the letters of the name. I hope that makes sense.
The muffler will come with instructions as to how to mount it. I believe the mechanic who did it for me put the perforated ring inside the muffler closer to the engine, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't matter.
Jump to the middle of the video of when I show the inside of the Carven muffler, and you'll see what I mean about that perforated ring. Flipping the muffler around would only move the ring 7 or 8 inches in the other direction, which I'm sure would not make much of a difference.
I hope that my answer helps.
Do muffler shops provide the pipes to go on the muffler??
Thanks for watching, man. 👍🏾👍🏾
Yes, the garage or muffler shops will have (or can find) all sizes of pipes and adaptors to modify your exhaust.
I’m looking to install an exhaust system in my tundra, I want it to be loud but I do not want it to piss off my neighbors. Do you think the carven would be too loud, or is it just enough to slide? Also how much was it to get this installed in total?
Hey, Luke. Thanks for watching the video.
1) You can find the answer to your first question at 3:16 of this video.
2) Cost. Each individual Carven Muffler is around $110 US on Amazon. As far as the cost of installation, it's a quick job (cutting and welding) and you'll probably only be charged for one hour of labour.
I hope that helps.
Is the carven muffler strictly for sound? Or it has performance benefits? Does it help with gas mileage?
Thanks for checking out the video.
The muffler is strictly for sound. Mufflers in general, are created to "muffle" sound, not increase HP or fuel efficiency. Now, the theory is that if you can expel exhaust quicker, you get an increase in HP or fuel efficiency. Unfortunately, the catalytic converters that they put on vehicles, restrict the flow of exhaust. It's unlikely that a cat-back exhaust increases HP in a significant way.
If you get rid of the cats ("straight-piping") that does lead to improved exhaust evacuation and increased HP and/or better fuel mileage.
I hope that answer helps.
Would it still be loud with a single exaust?
Thanks for watching the video.
It would definitely be MUCH, MUCH louder than stock exhaust system. It will sound aggressive and almost as loud as with a duel exhaust! You can find videos of Tundras (or other trucks) with single exhaust systems with modified mufflers on CZcams. They sound goooood!
Hello Toyota fanatic 81,
Do you have check engine codes when you delete the cats?
Thanks for checking out the video. I used the term "straight-piped" incorrectly in a couple of my videos. I still have the cats. Just deleted the stock muffler than put on the Carven R-Series mufflers a week later.
No engine sign thrown up for any of my mods (C.A.I. or Borla Exhaust).
Bro what size front tires you running?
Thanks for checking out the video.
Size of the front tires???? The same as the back. 285/60R20 (or 33.5" x 11.2"). All of the tires are (and should be) the same size.
Check out the "EVOLUTION OF MY TUNDRA" video, and you'll see my entire modification list.
Do you have any of your catalytic converters?
Hey, Man! Thanks for subscribing and for watching. Much appreciated! Yes, I still have all four of my catalytic converters. No one has stolen them yet and I have chosen to keep them on because it would just be too loud for the city.
Down the road, I may choose to buy some high-flow cats to boost horsepower, but for now I'll keep the factory cats.
Hey man so if I did this with a the stock system and just added the mufflers would it sound the same
Yep. It would sound just as good. If you're sticking with your stock exhaust system, you would only need one Carven R-Series Muffler. You would also need a Y-adapter and a mechanic at the garage you take it to can find that.
Check out Exhaust Addicts (on CZcams) to see Tundras with stock systems modified with Carven mufflers.
Did you compare the carven r to the carven tr?
Thanks for watching.
No, I didn't compare the two. I saw enough of the R-Series to know that is what I wanted.
Did you remove cats or they still on???
Thanks for checking out the video! I still have the cats on the truck.
Liked those original rims, 2014 stock? 17’s or 18’s?
Thanks for checking out the video.
The 2014 to 2021 stock rims are all 20". My after-market wheels are 20" too, but the offset is VERY different!
Do I have to do fuel exhaust to get that sound you have???
Hey, man! Thanks for subscribing and watching the video. Much appreciated!!!
To get that sound, all I did was install those Carven R-Series mufflers. You can do the same thing. It's a quick and easy job for your mechanic (or for yourself if you know how to weld).
Take a look at a few mufflers (Flowmaster, Carven, Dirty Deeds, Borla, etc.) and decide which brand and sound you like best. You can find sound tests for different mufflers and exhaust systems on CZcams.
Good luck!
I meant to say do I have to buy a duel exhaust muffler system to get that sound or can I just add the Carven R exhaust on mine
@@josiasjanice2245 There's no need to switch to a duel exhaust before you throw on a Carven muffler. You can replace your stock muffler with it and that should sound very similar to mine.
I added the duel exhaust to get a few more horses (quicker evacuation of the exhaust).
I just went to get the carvens installed . He looked at the mufflers and said they won’t be louder than the trd exhaust …??!
I bought the Carven R-Series mufflers, specifically. They are DEFINITELY louder than the TRD Exhaust. The TRD Exhaust is only a touch louder than stock, because the company would NEVER make an overly aggressive Exhaust profile.
Watch my Exhaust Hub video!! In fact, show it to him. It's proof that the Carven muffler is MUCH louder. It's purposely made to be MUCH louder.
You might have ran into a guy that doesn't know about the various options for aftermarket exhaust systems, or how they sound.
@@toyotaFANatic81 lol yeah I almost laughed in his face when he said that. It’s basically a slightly toned down straight pipe. I didn’t want to argue with him bc he was doing the work but I’m sure when he starts it he’ll shit his pants
Definitely let me know 1) what it sounds like, and 2) the technician's reaction!! 🤣🤣🤣
How bad is the drone with the carven r series
Thanks for watching the video, man! Much appreciated!!!
The reason I made the video (and got the Carven mufflers installed) is that they kill the drone. The truck is still loud when the throttle is opened up (while passing someone or going up a hill), but the truck has a nice low grumble at a cruise. I'm really satisfied with this particular mod.
just did this on my 2018 tundra sr5. Did 2 carvens tru dualed with an x pipe. Sounds so fucking bad ass.
I have two cats ( rear two removed) true dual. If I went X pipe with the Carven R’s, would it sound bad ass as well?
Sounds great. Cant go wrong with carven👍
Thanks for the sub and watching the video!!
You're right ... the Carvens are GOOD!
