I knew Hedy Lamarr when I lived above her at the Sandy Cove Condominiums in Altamonte Springs she used to invite me down into her apartment on many occasions just when my daughter was just a little girl she got a kick out of her and as I walked into her apartment she would show me all these pictures that she had of like Clark Gable and many other movie stars it was a pleasure to speak with her she was so kind and endearing and warm but when the story came out about the shoplifting of that she was not the one that did the shoplifting she didn't do anything wrong at least she thought she didn't she had explained to me that she had gone into a CVS store and her assistant was with her and there were things that she needed so she had her assistant put them in her pocket and as Hattie had walked out of the store they grabbed headache but not her assistant and storage Teddy with shoplifting and that was not true the Hedy that I knew was a beautiful woman she was very talkative about her career and hurting her life and what she did from when she was just a young girl to present and even in her last days I grew to love this woman so much and miss her very dearly and I wish her well in heaven and I wish the best for her and hope that she is healthy and happy and beloved

I answered an ad for a roommate on Hollywood Beach California, many years ago.The sub lessors name was Lloyd Lamar. There were pictures of Hedy Lamar all over the residence. Apparently my new roommate was the grandson of the Ms Lamar. I wish I could have met her, but even more I wish Lioyd possessed the sweetness his grandmother seemed to have. He was a the roommate from hell. We (there was another roommate as well) were not allowed to access the living room, and were restricted to our bedrooms and the kitchen. but God help you if you borrowed Lloyd's groceries. We figured out he was paying the rent on the place with our money so he did not have to pay at all. Nice work if you can get it. So I was not really in the mood to follow the restrictive rules and decided to have one of lloyds beers, which I would replace in the near future. That resulted in the first and only time someone pointed a gun at me. I called the police but they did nothing except suggest I move if I was not happy. Wonder why they sided with Lloyd??

She also worked with Howard Hughes to come up with a design for faster aircraft, she looked to birds and fish for inspiration, take a look at a B1 bomber straight on at it's shape, looks like the breast/wing joint if an eagle and if you watch the aircraft go thru a flight control surface check the rear flight surfaces move like a bird's tale. The inspiration was really achieved thru the advancement of technology

Hedy and George Antheil's patent has been cited in 66 other patents as a basis for those companies patents. Her father taught her much about how things worked. At 5 she took apart and put back together her music box which still plays today. She smashed a light bulb to see what was in it. She was bright at chemistry in school. Inventing was her hobby early that her father encouraged. They used to work on and take apart radios. She referenced a Philco radio consumer remote control that was around since 1939 in the notes for the patent. You have all the electronic groups who said her idea was the basis for how wi-fi, cdma, and the Milstar systems work. The Electronic Frontier Foundation, Lockheed, and the Navy gave Hedy awards for the system. Antheil said it was her idea and he basically wrote it down contributing his player piano knowledge used to switch and synchronize the frequencies for the system. Professor Samuel Mackeown of Cal Tech worked on it and the Inventors Council in Washington. Hedy and George started work on it in 1940 ending with the patent in 1942. Lyon and Lyon in LA got the patent in order. Hedy and George worked on more including a proximity bomb.

I have seen a few of her movies and to me she was a fairly decent actress, but her mind seemed to far outweigh any beauty that she happened to be. The world is full of beautiful women but the mind is what I would want from a woman mostly. To be able to sit and exchange different views about every subject under the sun would be like being in heaven to me. I have known a few beautiful women, but very few brilliant minds. I could fall deeply in love with a woman like Hedy Lamarr mostly because when I looked into her eyes I would see how wonderful and beautiful her mind was, and fall in love even deeper because of it. A pretty face is nice but a brilliant mind is priceless to me. I hope Hedy Lamarr's mind comes back in the next life and hopefully I will be able to sit and talk with her then. I love you for your mind Hedy Lamarr.

Not to minimize her contribution, but Hedy Lamar wasn't even born when the idea of wireless communication was invented. She almost certainly grew up listening to music on the "wireless". She came up with a particular method for how to make a radio signal more difficult to jam. A notable achievement in itself, but it wasn't the invention of the entire original art of wireless communication.

Personally, I'd love to direct a movie about how Hedy Lamarr managed to escape the Nazis who put her father and mother in the Concentration Camps of Austria, where Hedy was born, a beautiful Jewish girl, and after she escaped to the United States she became one of the major movie stars of Paramount Studios. Please do me a favor, put Gal Gadot on an interview to talk about the Holocaust and how her mother managed to escape -- Victor Isaac Alexander, son of Nimrod Alexander (on IMDB).

It is a myth that Hedy invented wi-fi. Ok, but two points. First, she obviously loved her Hollywood glamour career or she would have retired to pursue science. So although she may have wanted to do more, it doesn't mean she was fed up with acting or the screen life. Second, it was she herself who apparently chose not to publicise this other side of her life. So, if this piece is making a sexism allegation, it's also dubious.

teddy mills Marilyn Monroe was not a true blonde. She was a redhead name Norma Jean. She played the ditzy blonde for the masses. She was very intelligent articulate and great actress she understood acting at a very high level. Google Marilyn Monroe and learn the facts. I love Hedy Lamarr she looks like my wife when I met her what 22 years old. Sincerely ARNOLD BOURBON AMARAL

Beautiful women are lonely, they know men like them, not for their character and temperament but for superficial beauty. You can never take suitors seriously because they don’t want the real person but the beautiful face. Eventually the beautiful woman has had enough and they choose to live alone and in peace. The harsh reality, when the looks are gone no one bothers to give a second look. How shallow are human beings.

This type of creativity comes from God.....from heaven. He can give it to whomever..the real question is not : was a hedy a genious?? , it is: did she give thanks for her beautiful mind??...A fascinating character, reminds me of my mother who is 86, and is high i.q. also.

No doubt a remarkable woman. Rare brains and beauty. The Eskanazy jews of Germany were the most brilhants people of the world - some of them did what Hollywood its today. Nietzsche use to say that the jewish women were the most beautiful in the world. We cannot say the same about men. However she was unique and photogenic. Bad actress we must say. But who cares?

The only thing on Hedy Lamarr's mind was her appearance, shoes, mascara, and breast augmentation. Just because Richard Rhodes writes bestsellers, does not mean his content is worthy of any serious discussion. Besides his and Hedy's claims, there are no evidence that she knew ANYTHING about highly complex technology such radio communication. She had absolutely NO basic EDUCATION, let alone specialized radio-electronics engineering training that was the cutting edge of technology in those days (and in most ways still is). So good luck believing the CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN fluff - that is NOT proof !

Konstruktivist Neo jealous are we? Is it because she was Jewish? There's only three races Caucasian black and mongoloid. Hedy Lamarr what's caucasian just like you. Just like me. I did my DNA on ancestry.com and I am all three races Caucasian black mongoloid. You should do yours it may be somewhat surprise. God is Not partial we are all equal in his eyes. When Noah landed on the ark he had three sons with their wives and they went to separate areas in the Earth. One was Black the other Caucasian the other mongoloid. All mankind on the Earth are descendants of these three sons of Noah. Read your Bible you will find out the truth about Mankind and how Jehovah God created us in His image. He is a god of variety. Imagine if all the flowers in the world were one color blue for example. Or there's only one type of cat one type of dog one type of bird. Psalms. Chapter 37 verses 10 through 30 . Will give you an idea at what is Jehovah's purpose for mankind to live forever on the Earth in peace and unity all three races together. Man created bigotry prejudice it's a satanic mentality. Thank you my friend for listening excuse my typos how to use the microphone when I make a comment do it to and autoimmune disease. I will be fine. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral
