Garo's have 12 subtribe..each subtribe has a different dialect with different tone (A'we,Atong,Ruga,Matchi,Dual,Ambeng,Matabeng,chibok,chisak,Gara ganching,Migam).

Kamrupian dialect is very different which was not recorded in old geography books. It would be a total 13

All the indigenous tend to have very similar story due to the same geographical and climatic condition. Also its very likely that every tribe have met each other at some point of time and dealt with the same condition at the very same time.

Garo Anchestors were Sinotibetan Tribes (Ancient Han Chinese), in the past Ancient Chinese mostly tribal. After nagas are you sure? Garo is the largest tribe in northeast. Garo is the second largest tribe in meghalaya as well in Assam after Bodo. Also many of the Garos living in other states of northeast, like Tripura, Nagaland, Mijoram and Arunachal pradesh.

@@cherikkuamarak4053 @Luvyrsf that's why I said "perhaps." According to google the Garo population is 997,716 and bodo is 1.45 million while, the tani tribe is 1.7 million. Hence most populated.
But anyways, thank you for correcting me. I need to do more research on other tribes too.
You see, the tani tribe of ours is not generally called as one tribe like the Nagas but in 6 sub tribes ie. Adi, Nyshi, Galo, Mising, Apatani and Tagin. So that's why.
