Tomb Raider 2013 is a game where Lara Croft is not yet trained, she doesn't know how to fight, shoot, swim, it's like a backstory

They removed swimming completely in TR2013, that's why she doesn't have a dive

In older games she dives gracefully. In newer ones she dives like a brick.
To be fair though, the newer games are further back in the timeline to her more beginner days. By the time we get to the older games timeline she's got a whole fancy gym and training room in the Manor 😂 So safe to say she definitely practiced over the years, I just really miss the amazing gymnastics she does in the old games 😭
@@b_porcelain But it's just diving. In the newer ones she can still jump and do flips and shoot, surely she can do swan dive.
@@DadoPanda She does in Shadow of the Tomb Raider I believe. It's just not as perfect a dive as the old games due to the time line, but you can slowly see the progression and how much she's learned from her first expedition in the first new gen Tomb Raider.
Everything in the newer games is done with the purpose of making her less sexy and more masculine because that is now the law.

TR'13 was the funniest though it really shouldn't be.
And to think that Angel of Darkness was the only game where the swan dive actually had a use (After landing in the water she swam really fast for a couple of seconds, if doing a swan dive).
Man they couldn't finish the game, but they added so many good extras.
You need the swan dive in TR1 to reach the water in the middle of the fire in the floating islands

Actually you could also do a running jump with grabbing, that works too. Although it looks much better with the swan dive
I didn't play it, but I'm interested in the potential remake. They did a good job with the first 3, but what does that mean for AOD? Will they simply remake it as it was, or will they try to make it what the devs wanted it to be? I think stamina is a great addition for TR (even if it wasn't done properly.)

There will be no game engines back then so they probably had to make the animation and every motion piece by piece

You're right... She makes an abrupt transition from a regular jump to the swan dive. I guess they sacrificed the presentation and fluidity of the animation so that the player can press the swan dive button after the jump and still perform the dive. The fact that the regular jump looks clunky as hell doesn't help either. lol.
@@darkcat5823 but you also could press the button right after the jump in the previous games, so they were just lazy with the animation, I guess. But the regular jump is horrible as well, true.
Anniversary was peak. No TR game has been made since.

2013 is justified since she is a kid, but 2018 is not excusable after 2015.
