The master of the monkey fist Koo Sze is on the run from Qing Snake fist warlord who wants to destroy his clan. He finds refuge in a small town where he becomes a barber and sparks up a friendship with a waiter who he teaches the monkey fist style in the hope that he can keep the style alive and safe from the Qing Snake fist clan.

It's amazing how the first Kung Fu masters developed all those kinds of Kung Fu Styles by themselves, it's not something you create overnight, those movements were really well thought! Kung Fu FOR EVER!!!
Thank you for uploading this I truly love to this movie as a child. it's just too bad you don't have the full version there are many missing scenes and like cuts. I ran into this when I tried to get another copy of it after my old VHS tape finally died. But still it's nice to see most of this movie intact.
My favorite Kung fu flick of ALL TIME! man i remember watching this a kid, back in the 80's and many other Kung fu flicks: it came about when my Grandfather brought an VCR, and the only movie my aunts and girl cousins would watch is the "Color purple" so one day my uncle came and brought us a big shoebox full of tapes mostly Kung fu movies and i thought they were going to be boring but turned out this would be one of the best movie i had ever watch, also 3 lady Ninja, Snake in the monkey shadow, Eagles claw, Drunken Master/Monkey, Iron fist, one that i been searching for years but cant find last seen it in 2000, was Kung fu and the bear, guy fought an actual live bear in an big cage.
This was the first Kung Fu flick I've ever watched with my father (rip). Great memories. Owned it on VHS. Great upload 👍🏿

Anytime you see a movie and Chang Yi is in it (Top Notch Star) you know the movie cannot be anything but a 8.5+ or better. Yueh Hua just about the same. This is a real good one for anyone !

Finally found this on dvd. One of the first Saturday morning kung fu movies I saw as an 80s kid. And still my favorite! The Mr. Chang scenes were the best!

One of the first kung fu movies I loved as a kid. Pretended to be sick so I could watch Kung Fu Theatre!! And this gem was shown!
You are all lucky. This is the OG version with the final fight intact. There is another version floating around that has clipped nearly all of the final fight scene.
Sadly i owned the one that was clipped out as a kid.. but i always loved this movie!!!
E Lorenzo it was sad. I tried to buy it when I was an adult and all I could find was the clipper version. That was like 10 years ago. I looked for years for the non clipped version because I still remembered the last fight scene from when I was a kid.
I did eventually find it. But it took a years. That’s why all these people who stumble on this version of the movie are incredibly lucky and in for a treat.

I saw that one too, and i was so angry too, luckily i had seen and owned this one on video cassette, as a kid well it belonged to my Grandfather and he let us have it on condition that we took care of it.

The intro was fantastic, the colours in the background were beautifully dreamlike. Very artistic indeed, and you can certainly see the influences for KILL BILL. In fact the music is from a western called DAY OF ANGER, which was used in Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED....
I liked your comment then i took it away when you mentioned tarantino's kill bill. For me kung fu movies have to be chinese, no refried beans for me thanks.

That 59.36 and so on for the part switch around that show Snake Kung Fu style villian aka. "The Deadly Snake Ha Yan" train for more are my big favourite part and make me remember this movie, Monkey Fist Floating Snake 1979 (Taiwan) I also love the idea of the treehouse training parts for Monkey Kung Fu style for the protagonist side and for sure the fight scene in this movie are great, this sure to be on the top list movie for Monkey Kung Fu style as mained for me 😁. Be able to keep coming back for this all thanks to Wu Tang Collection again 🙂.

I love how he put his ear to the earth and listened for his footsteps because snake was moving too fast to see! Iconic finishing blow as well.. you usually see the windpipe being crushed but the monkey seperated his rib cage! Totally great movie

I love when they have dual roles. Pern Gang the monkey master/the teacher that got whipped on. His best role that I have seen was the old teacher in the leg fighters. As an old man he shows high skill level of acro n skill

One of my long time favorite old school Kung-fu movies. Even using the Day of Anger as the main theme made me loved this more. Though this movie gave me a lot of laughs with it's comedic moments.
Still wondering what's the name of that song that plays at 52:51 sounds like it was from a Western movie, though it sounds really beautiful

good movie, but i prefer more realistic special effects during the hand to hand combat

the first fight between the old monkey master and the snake was impressively realistic but it's true the movie has many unrealistic fantasy fight bits. It is quite diverse. But a lot of this movie could not be made without very advanced skills from the main actors.
