True. Also, rn some bosses are hard and fun to play against. I can see game become easier when you level up further, just like with WuWa. Although in WuWa you still can get 2shot but bosses are WAY easier to kill after you get enough dmg
In regards to your comment about the Dev team Smack, from some of the interviews by the producer he mention that his team is really young. A lot of them from my understanding are recent college graduates or still pretty new to the industry.
100% agree with smack on the finishers, hell, i wrote about it in the latest survey they handed out. The finishers need UNIQUE animations and MORE animations, i noticed so much redundancy in the finishers where they just slap basic attacks or EX attack animations in the finishers, the devs need to do better in that department moving forward. The only one that has a decent one is Ellen because it has a unique cinematic at the start, they need to do the same for all characters because it doesn’t sit right with me that we invest resources, time, and potentially money to get these cool limited 5 star characters just to see subpar animations in the finishers. I highly encourage people to voice this opinion in all surveys until they get the memo because i really do think it’s a problem in an otherwise great game. Edit: and yes, im well aware that they want to keep the animations tight and to the point since its a fast pace game after all but considering that it takes awhile to charge up the finisher, i dont think extending them to look better would cause any issues to the flow or pace of the game IMO.
Ellen's Ultimate animation is literally also her Chain Attack animation, I believe every character uses their Ultimate animation as their Chain Attack animation just without the little cinematic. Edit: well probably not everyone I can't remember if Anby's matches.
Most of the times I believe, when the playerbase vocally want some changes they get not the next patch, but the one after. It's like OKAY we released 1.0, let's start making 1.1 immediately, and during the time they are making the 1.1 they get feedback from 1.0 and know what to change in the future, so like they can take that into consideration in 1.2, but as we can see Jane Doe get's to walk in the city, they likely managed to use the feedback from 1.0 and add that part at the last minute.

I understand what you mean on the Ult animations, but I dig them because they remind me of old school Street Fighter Supers (I know, Fighting Game reference lol). Nowadays, Supers feel like afterschool specials with how long they take. They look awesome, but they take too long imo, especially after repeated use. Back in the day, Ryu just did a big ass Hadouken and Ken just did a big ass fire Dragon Punch. It was cool, effective, and allowed you to get right back into the action quickly.
Imo the Ults after the animation is perfectly fine cause you got to remember they don't have powers in this world only specialized equipment. Miyabi could be an exception, but based of her fight with Nenevah she borrowed powers from the spirit and the spirit went into the sword, she is still physically capable. The only person I could thing of that could have special powers is the Purple flaming guy that went into the hollow, dude has a flaming head. Also the ultimate don't have to be big and flashy since the area we fight on is small, and since Jane doe is physical, her ults are just slashes and the AoE is pretty big.
Even if you dont have super power they can do really nice movement with her ult other than some flashing attack, animation whens starting is nice but after that kinda bland. Look at fighting game like street fighter you'll know what i mean
18:23 ZZZ devs really put the Monster Hunter's Charge Blade in their game, but instead of an Axe it transforms into a Great Sword. Can't say they don't have good taste with that one.

@@HousekiMitai the revenue for genshin is down the drain though, people acted like they did good on revenue but, arle isnt breaking any record despite being hyped for years, furina rerun is a mid to low revenue patch when raiden rerun broke records (and there was aswell 3 whole new units with the furina rerun with clorinde being one of those and still ti didnt do much in revenue) and despite a new skin and a weapon that everyone was waiting for over a year, it did its worst month in july which explain all the change coming in 5.0 and the big increase in rewards for the paid BP, genshin is FINALLY suffering from doing nothing for 4 years (though suffering is a big word it still make bank)
Dropping £200 on Seth character and Mindscapes and his W engine for refinement 5. He is a male character that actually woll be useful and has a great combat animations.
i for one don't mind the w-engines because that means they can be creative with their weapon choices, like that one pink haired girl in the HSO faction who has a naginata.
I hard disagree on the weapon thing. Doing it this way instead of how genshin/wuwa do it lets them actually give people different weapons than just 5 types. Same why Im glad starrail uses an abstraction for it too so they can do any weapon they want on a char without having to turn it into its own category
A lot of time to save man. Leaks says only Lighter from SOC will be featured in 1.2 and he's A rank. Caesar and Burnice from SOC will be released after Miyabi's banner in 1.3. Lots of generous events await us too so pulling for Jane in 1.1 won't hurt. Just a reminder though, Yanagi from sect 6 will be released in 1.2 and she has a BIGGER weapon than Jane, way BIGGEEEER!
while I agree about the weapon design critic.. its pretty much the direction HSR has done.. This allow then to have massive freedom on actual character designs without considering weapon types etc...

This is also the reason why they used "Belobog" even tho HSR team already used that because they didn't know, cause they don't interact with the other teams. To answer your question as to why the gacha system is the same as their other games....... It's because that's just the standard lmao, why change it.
dont worry about ULTS, we will soon see domain expansion and enchanced form ults but Im aiming for Jane, for me anomaly is good if you can buid up so fast that those dmg pile up. I think we will have kafka same skill that can detonate, where the dmg is base of %of anomaly build up. Lucy and Jane will have the fastest anomaly build team will have
12:28 she's a stun unit. Will you be even using her ult at all? My theory is that the DPSes will have more impressive ult animations, while everyone else will have low effort ults. They cut corners where they can. If they didn't choose this 1 ult per team gimmick, they would need to put more effort in non dps units' ults.
I feel like there's a lot of inspiration from "The Surge Series" in that Mountain Lion Fella. The Belabog chapter also gave me big "The Surge" vibes. For those who don't know "The Surge" is a series of two "souls-like" games set in a post apocalyptic techno world where a lot of the bosses you fight are literal machines. Also Seth using what could be described as the "Charge Blade" from Monster Hunter is real sick too.
The Signature W-Engines have one visual thing they add to characters, making their hair glow when they use special moves and you have it enabled, you'll get a button unlocked in the character menu if they have the right w-engine equipped. You can disable it aswell if you dislike it (we have 4*/A-Rank Signatures in the game too incase this fact was missed aswell)
Seth's alternate weapon animations making Arataki Itto's animations look like Arataki Shitto. The ult for Qingyi is alright... because she is stun you should never be using it anyway unless you want flair in your combos. You should be saving your ult for actual DPS units or even anomaly units that can burst anomaly meter instead. The ults for anomaly, stuns, and supports aren't really all that impactful anyway. The only ults I feel carry any weight are Ben's ground slam and Ellen's handstand glacier geyser because it has hit stop and crunch sounds

Agree, the ults hardly differentiate from A class agents, if Im paying for an S rank, they better look like an S, I just wish they had at least more visual effects after the ult animation, literally the only thing that separates characters in this game in terms of rarity, is the letter of their rank.

@22:05 The W-engines do add some visuals to the characters. It's a very minor detail, but character's hair (or tip of their hair) will light up in a neon highlight. Some aren't very prominent, but Lycaon gets "ice-like" colours on their ears ^^
I'm just glad they added an attractive guy to the game. Right now, it's nothing but Loli, women, a weird looking male character and animals. He has a tail and ears but at least most of him is human
I love when Smack goes degen mode, absolute cinema Anyways, signature weapons do have a special effect when equipped by their unit, most characters hair glow, scars, or eyes light up when they use EX skills or Ultimates Not entirely sure what the triggers are though tbh. And I do like the little animation every Engine has
I mean, the characters already come with their signature weapons inside the characters, the Wengines are like the Light Cones, but I think they being decorated balls makes them marketable, kinda like bakugans. XD
You don't really get to appreciate the weapon's visual designs, but equipping the signature weapons of each character do give special cosmetic effects to everyone including the A ranks.
Lost my zhu yuan 50/50 to C1 Rina. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Jane being my play style and liking her design and needing a second dps that doesn’t drive me insane I’d skip the banners. 1.1 looks very promising
I like Jane but I really lack stun agents, the only one I have is Anby because the game decided to give me only Rina and 2 Soldier 11 (which I don't even like ffs) for standard characters...
I knew sixtwotwo since her silly Dori dance, and most recently the Furina rick roll video. But i never thought that Hoyo would get her as a livestream host and she was pretty damn good at it. Her cosplay looked like Belle irl
Honestly if the ZZZ team is as young as they seem. Hoyo is doing a good job nurturing some pretty good talent here. This being their first game as was noted at the end. The game has its flaws, but flaws that are significantly more minimal for a new team compared to a Veteran team especially considering the scale of the project. Honkai Impact 3rd also had young talent at the time of its release. While not one of the bigger gacha games anymore. It was big at its time. It used to be that game sponsored by everyone prior to Raid Shadow Legends taking over. Meanwhile Star Rail and Genshin teams stay fairly anonymous for the most part.
I love both of these characters honestly. Feel for them way more than I do Zhu Yuan who I still don't like all that much. Although since I have Zhu Yuan anyway. That's a squad right there. I think this might end up being better than what we normally have with Nicole and Anby.
also i believe theres new shiyu defense mode that was very very briefly shown. im def looking forward to that. inferno mode i was not expecting, very nice surprise
Hoyos strategy to focus mostly on what the majority of players/mobile players want pays off. It did pay off and it will continue to pay off. More details for the more hardcore players are not shown but will be coming. @Smack hope you reach Nest11 in Hollow Zero soon and bash your head against it. Especially as F2P, its hard. Very hard, above Wuwa Levels of Hard even. You will enjoy it.
Hope next time they give more time to show off QoL improvements, but coming from the hsr 2.4 livestream it felt great to watch a stream w/ almost no BS

@@ganyumaindayone1112 No it isn't, Every team in Mihoyo are always new and has zero overlapping with other teams, this has been public knowledge for awhile now, and The producer of ZZZ is literally new and has zero track record, He also said it himself that ZZZ was built by him and a bunch of close friends with not much experience, they've also barely actually interacted with the other teams.
This is also the reason why they used "Belobog" even tho HSR team already used that because they didn't know, cause they don't interact with the other teams.
To answer your question as to why the gacha system is the same as their other games....... It's because that's just the standard lmao, why change it.

12:28 she's a stun unit. Will you be even using her ult at all? My theory is that the DPSes will have more impressive ult animations, while everyone else will have low effort ults. They cut corners where they can. If they didn't choose this 1 ult per team gimmick, they would need to put more effort in non dps units' ults.

I feel like there's a lot of inspiration from "The Surge Series" in that Mountain Lion Fella. The Belabog chapter also gave me big "The Surge" vibes.

The Signature W-Engines have one visual thing they add to characters, making their hair glow when they use special moves and you have it enabled, you'll get a button unlocked in the character menu if they have the right w-engine equipped. You can disable it aswell if you dislike it (we have 4*/A-Rank Signatures in the game too incase this fact was missed aswell)

The ult for Qingyi is alright... because she is stun you should never be using it anyway unless you want flair in your combos. You should be saving your ult for actual DPS units or even anomaly units that can burst anomaly meter instead. The ults for anomaly, stuns, and supports aren't really all that impactful anyway. The only ults I feel carry any weight are Ben's ground slam and Ellen's handstand glacier geyser because it has hit stop and crunch sounds

Guys, give me your take on this situation I'm in, so I love this game right and I'm planning on pulling Jane Doe, I got this one friend in the community that thinks he's like the "son of hoyo" because he played all the hoyo games ever since HI3 came out and it's true he did play it, so he's full of pride when it comes to this game
One day, when Jane Doe's teaser came out we're in a vc, I told my friends that I'm planning on pulling and maybe maining her because she so finee, jokingly said "very waifuable material"
And this guy pulled out, "You're not even gonna pull for her signature weapon, don't even try claiming her" and then try to brush off any of my opinions or things that I say in certain patch discussion, well I did try to pull for their signature but if I'm not getting it it's just my luck.
This thing almost happened at every hoyo games patch update/every time I tried to give a big reaction on a character teasers.

Agree, the ults hardly differentiate from A class agents, if Im paying for an S rank, they better look like an S, I just wish they had at least more visual effects after the ult animation, literally the only thing that separates characters in this game in terms of rarity, is the letter of their rank.

@22:05 The W-engines do add some visuals to the characters. It's a very minor detail, but character's hair (or tip of their hair) will light up in a neon highlight. Some aren't very prominent, but Lycaon gets "ice-like" colours on their ears ^^
I'm just glad they added an attractive guy to the game. Right now, it's nothing but Loli, women, a weird looking male character and animals. He has a tail and ears but at least most of him is human

You don't really get to appreciate the weapon's visual designs, but equipping the signature weapons of each character do give special cosmetic effects to everyone including the A ranks.
Lost my zhu yuan 50/50 to C1 Rina. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Jane being my play style and liking her design and needing a second dps that doesn’t drive me insane I’d skip the banners. 1.1 looks very promising

Honestly if the ZZZ team is as young as they seem. Hoyo is doing a good job nurturing some pretty good talent here. This being their first game as was noted at the end. The game has its flaws, but flaws that are significantly more minimal for a new team compared to a Veteran team especially considering the scale of the project. Honkai Impact 3rd also had young talent at the time of its release. While not one of the bigger gacha games anymore. It was big at its time. It used to be that game sponsored by everyone prior to Raid Shadow Legends taking over.
Meanwhile Star Rail and Genshin teams stay fairly anonymous for the most part.

Hoyos strategy to focus mostly on what the majority of players/mobile players want pays off. It did pay off and it will continue to pay off. More details for the more hardcore players are not shown but will be coming. @Smack hope you reach Nest11 in Hollow Zero soon and bash your head against it. Especially as F2P, its hard. Very hard, above Wuwa Levels of Hard even. You will enjoy it.
