From what I see Malayalam Audience is not very different from rest of south India, whatever which works there works in Kerala too

Anupama was a lot kinder than I expected. The attention to details at the expense of story telling reminded me of Bhansali at times. Wish Ayappanum Koshiyum got a full fledged review like this.
It's a matter of taste. I for one found the initial wait game tiring but once the movie shifted gears and what was beneath started pouring out it was nothing short of brilliant.
Only 1 cr is budget of this movie that is the power of Malayalam industry

We are going to see a whole lot of plots where large isolated houses in the middle of lushness in Malayalam Cinema till the Covid protocols are maintained. And that’s a breather as we don’t need huge sets and squeezing in an unwarranted dance sequel( read item dance) for good cinema
Malayalam movie industry is just on a rampage. Hopefully more people start watching with subtitles.
These folks are light years ahead of everyone. Today I consider them ahead of most commercial Hollywood content as well.
Wow ! Kala can be termed truly brutal in terms of action which Indians generally would not prefer. But those who can see Hollywood action movies with gore should definitely appreciate Kala the way its made. Absolute stylish and with a purpose. The best part is there is no show of hero machoism or show of muscles, but true raw power. And what a beauty to see that a lean fellow, the villain has more strength and power because he is an hardworking grassroot fellow. Tovino, Moor, Lal, all great acting. Definitely a perfect watch to appreciate all aspects of film making.

Kala was the most realistically Violent movie made in Mollywood....Good that in between so many Feel good movies and Psycho thrillers , this one gave a breather
it's true, unlike other states in kerala people stay in between of thier mansion in thier property. in survey it kerala was rate highest in people owning in terms of sqft, goa 2nd and Punjab 3rd.
By the time this movie ended I needed a strong drink .. my goodness this was violent and poetic at the same time

Well the houses surrounded by green plants is a testimonial fact that their older generation was rich
My grand father was rich and he was smart enough to buy a lot of land and surroundings and we their kids and grandkids inherit it... The neighbours and people surround us is a bit annoyed and shows a bit jealousy because either how much we own or how we didn't needed to struggle enough like them
This mentality would expecially reflect when some people talks or interact with someone and try to make conflicts such as inserting ego by comparing others("someone" builded a even large house than this) , insulting our pride ("someone else" donated more money than us even when they don't have our much money"), and simply just making conflicts like ("someone particular in our family is more egoist, proud etc....) or simply just blackmailing like(you have to give at least this much of money or what would others think)

Anupama madam should make a video on good and bad of malayalam cinema. Till now we hear only malayalis talking about malayalam cinema. Even though they often bring both side, but it would be great if expert eyes like madam do a video on malayalam cinema. An honest take.
Dude accept it bollywood wont survive if their hero's and heroine actually act... They just showcase their build up body and do some shit songs completely packed with glamour...

I am so glad that malayalam movies is getting the recognition it deserves... Malayalam movies are generally very close to reality and brilliance and people never really acknowledge it because malayalam movies were in South Indian movies category and people have the fake superstition that all South Indian movies are masala movies... Even old malayalam movies staring mohanalal, dileep, jayaram and mammooty have that class that bollywood never really had
The irony is bollywood once considered South Indian movies as too cheezy and over the top

I thought you would brief the story from moor's point of view as you did for tovino ... Story depicts about the oppressed human beings .. thanks for avoiding moor's charecter brilliantly 🙏🏾

The movie has a star cast and awesome technicians to pay. The movie also spends a lot on action set pieces, make up and stunt chronography.
It is a high budget film from Malayalam film standards though many think it is a low budget film.
According to the makers the budget was 2.5 crore. The box office collection was 4.5 crore
Budget including P&a is 2.5cr ..
Tovino, director and DOP were co producers and thus didn't take remuneration..
Bro, 6.5 cr. is too much for such a film. I'm sure it's around 2 cr.
This is like an Indian adaptation of John Wick with and Underlying layer of Class war.

interesting fact is that in this movie main character is designed in a negative shade. in so many movies we can see a hero with -ve shade (Anti hero). But in those movies evenif hero is bad, at the end hero wins. But in this movie, that anti hero Ioose. And another think is that we can't say Moor 's character a villain. That means for Shaji, he is hero and villain is moor 's charactor. For Moor 's character he is hero and shaji is villain.

Two Heroes Tovino And Moor were Hospitalised while shooting the action scenes, and Tovino had to undergo Surgery Due to an Internal Bleeding caused by one of the Stunts.
