7 day Anxiety Relief Challenge:
The right kinds of rest is an essential part to regulating the nervous system enough so that we don’t keep falling for anxious interpretations of symptoms and events.
Day 1: Physical rest - breath-work, stillness, sleep, massage.
Physical rest gets us out of the habit of ‘doer-ship’ and into acceptance and allowance which is a key component to anxiety healing.
Day 2: Spiritual rest - meditation, deeper connection, prayer, gratitude.
Spiritual rest gives us the opportunity to see beyond the directives of the egoic mind or lower self.
Day 3: Creative rest - journalling, painting, playing a musical instrument.
Creative rest takes us out of thinking on the past and future and into the present.
Day 4: Emotional rest - surrendering, giving up control, escaping from ‘doer-ship.’
Emotional rest provides us with the opportunity to see that what we feel doesn’t have to act as law in relation to how we act.
Day 5: Sensory rest - darkness, focusing your gaze at a distance, less blue light activity.
Sensory rest gives our entire system a break from over-stimulation and the fight/flight response.
Day 6: Mental rest - sound healing (432 hz), listening to nature, using touch, focusing on breath.
Mental rest helps us to disconnect from our NATS, Negative Automatic Thinking.
Day 7: Social rest - engaging with nourishing relationships, saying no more often to people’s demands, building your inner relationship more.
Social rest helps us understand the importance of ‘Self First’ during this time of inner transition towards inner ease.

Dennis, you live in my head. I had to go to Walmart today to do my weekly grocery shopping. I am always rushing in, throwing things in the cart so i can hurry out of there. Its to the point where if i dont know where a specific item is in the store, ill go on the website and look the item up to see what isle its in so im not in there longer than i need to. Today, i heard you say, "take your time walking thru the store. Dont rush it. You are safe". So i smiled to myself and walked thru there like i was on a leisurely stroll. You also talk about meditation in this video. I do one hour meditation everyday. 4 x 15 minutes. Seeing myself doing the things i want to do. I also just started yesterday adding in transcendent meditation, which is nice to just sit still with no thoughts but being in the present moment. I do a gratitude meditation daily as well as part of my hour meditation. Thank you for all of the tips

Last night, I had a really bad panic attack due to my neck and back pain. I was going to go to the hospital but decided to come home because I know they really wouldnt do anything for me anyway. I will try the challenge.

I had 3 weeks of the worst anxiety. I had restless sleeps from waking up with heart palpitations, i was focusing on my breathing all day which was exhausting and i didnt think id get better. With the help of Anxiety Guys videos i can say im feeling so much better. I cant think him enough ❤

You always speak about the person who has health anxiety and wants to check everything and going back to back to drs but what about the one who does not want to go to dr at all. So avoiding dr visits due to fear of illness.and also the white coat syndroom . 🙏
Great question. This is me. Have a dental appointment later this month and need to make a doctors appointment for bloodwork that I keep putting off. Have no idea why it’s causing such crazy anxiety. I’ve done these things so many times without an issue. I’m worried about panicking there, but why? For reference, I’ve had Long Covid for 2.5 years and have dysautonomia (at least I fit the description for that and POTS). I avoid doctors like the plague.
Same here. I’ve always had health anxiety and long covid has made it worse. I find an actually calm down after I make my appointment. Let your doctor know how you are feeling…they are hearing a lot of this now.
@@green-eyed_girl88 I did end up telling the person who made my appointment and she’s going to let the hygienist know. Now my brain wants to ruminate on my b/p and heart rate being sky high due to anxiety-they check it before they work on your teeth. My rational brain is saying, “come on, it’s just the dentist-you’ve done this dozens of times! Snap out of it!” My Limbic brain is all about the ruminating and what-ifs.
I'm taking the Challenge! I've been having extreme anxiety while traveling either by cruise ship or flying. This weekend I'm cruising. I haven't been able to walk on a cruise ship since 2021! Anxiety is keeping me from boarding the ship! Your videos have helped me and I'm boarding a cruise ship on Friday and I'm stressing out about attempting this again but I must overcome this unfounded fear.
It's hard to getting past the intrusive ideas and moving forward! Good for you! I'm not there yet but I found a new therapist to help me move forward! Have a good cruise!

I've been suffering from GAD, panic disorder, and OCD for 2 years. I used to play video games as they were really comforting, but after a recent recovery setback, I didn't have the same feeling as before. Now, when I play video games and get excited or stimulated, I feel anxious and just exit the game
This also relates to other exciting situations like sexual activity, watching action movies, and other similar activities. Should I avoid them at all?

I get 4 hours sleep a night, i cannot nap day time either. I just cant nap. I lay down to rest, if i do fall asleep i keep jumping and panic.

Dennis. Im really exhausted and anxious as im carrying twins. I dont want them to be a panic worrier like me.. I never was prepared for 2 kids. Now im worried about how the future will go on. Fear if finances will be sufficient, fearing if i have to miss my sleep and freedom when they arrive. Fear of losing control in my life.. 😢😢 what can i do to improve myself from the uncertainty of life
