Can The Flamethrower Cook On Helldive? | Helldivers II (2)

Got tired of the "meta" and decided to try out the flamethrower on Helldive. Surprisingly enough, it went quite well! My team comp helped a lot for sure, but it's nice to see something like this holding its own on Helldive. DEUCES!

Hey just wanted to ask if you've tried the Scorcher on bots... Its crazy effective! Can take down devastators and hulks

Absolutely love the scorcher and I think it's the best weapon right now for both races.

Would be nice if the flamethrower was unique in that it could bypass armor. Think it'd be a lot more viable that way.

Flamethrower does bypass armour and damage health pool directly.

I was playing around on middle tier difficulties with different builds and I notice flamethrower sometimes just SHREDS chargers. Not sure what exactly is the cause, but it seems to actually melt off their armor on their legs and a close range hit directly up the backside will near instantly cook them.

Yeah I had a ton of fun using it. Seemed pretty decent even on Helldive.

The Flame thrower and arc thrower ignores armor when dealing damage. So if you focus a body part with the flame thrower you murder them pretty quickly

If you focus one leg with the flamethrower it dies quicker, but it seems more noticable if you do so while it's turning.
I think the flamethrower benefits in some way from the bug that causes the legs to become vulnerable during turning animations, it just isn't as noticable since you don't get the blood splatter with the flamethrower.
Not sure why this would be the case since it's meant to ignore armour, but it could be only the damage over time effect goes through armour and there's also some initial 'contact' damage to it which normally doesn't.
