Ye that others are like saying it's fire breathing like wth it's sun breathing
The Japanese word "Hino" also means "Fire" so it's understandable why people get the style confused. Before it was identified as Sun breathing, the style was known as "Dance of the Fire god", or "Hinokami Kagura". Tanjiro also identified the style by " Fire breathing" because he didn't know about Sun breathing around the time. After his visit to the Rengoku residence, Tanjiro learned about Sun breathing.

Fun fact! Yorichii actually has no blood/DNA connection to Tanjiro's family, his ancestor was a friend of Yorichii. Because Yorichii saved his ancestor's life he wanted to thank Yorichii and return the favor in any way possible, Yorichii had no one to pass his legacy down to. So Tanjiro's ancestor passed down Yorichii's legacy to Tanjiro's family, Making Tanjiro his successor.
