I'm continually amazed at how Gordon can get through to the most self absorbed morons, and get them to love him for it. It's a gift, total competence. He even makes them more sympathetic. In the end everyone is fallible, the human condition and all that. So this is just... so wholesome.

Unsurprisingly,Peter's closed down and the former land that where was Peter was built on has been bought by the neighbouring restaurant and Peter's dad unfortunately passed away in 2009 and worst part is that Peter is part of the Bonnano family which is like a mafia

This is me and my family. at 8 years old i was taking care of my brothers almost completely alone to the point where the youngest one called me mommy. at 10 i was making gourmet meals, cleaning the whole house, talking to their teachers, making their breakfast lunch and dinner, and doing everything for my brothers but driving them. While still keeping all As in school which my parents thought “wasn’t good enough” I’m 14 now and it’s only gotten worse. And my 11 year old brother has been so coddled by them that he can’t even use the fucking microwave by himself.

29:50 I work as a waitress and this annoyed me, with a full house I am normally carrying 12-20ish tables, each one you have to consider drinks, food and check backs. If a table isn't a part of my zone I wont touch it if I haven't been called to it as idk what is happening with them, if they have just been sat or are waiting on drinks/food. If it was that much trouble why didn't he just take the order himself
I have a lot of respect for the chefs in this episode, you can see they have a lot of passion and it truly shows once they get the appropriate, usable, equipment.

I've never understood why Yanks do that. In the UK, if the parents are Irish, Italian, French, whatever, the kids will still usually say they're British, and maybe tell you where their parents are from.

This is always one of my favourite episodes to watch just because it feels like some messed up low-budget film, especially the un-cut version.
Probably the most bizzare/unexpected change in character in any episode, the way he suddenly and drastically changes after the 31:00 argument is unbelievable. Not sure how much is clever editing, but if that’s actually what happened then Gordon is an absolute genius at cracking people and getting through to them. Peter literally went from the worst owner ever to fully admitting Gordon was right and accepting that he needed to change just like that? If this was a fully scripted drama that character arc would not be in any way believable.
So why is it believable in real life? It sorta feels like he's putting on an act, but I'm not sure what part of him is the act and what isn't. Is he a sociopath trying to fit into his powerful mafia role, or is he a federal agent pretending to be an aspiring higher-up mafioso?
See the thing is that you have to concider that the owners know there's a time limit.
