  • This is the backyard clean up from the property last week where I cleaned up the overgrown front yard.
It's a massive undertaking but I'll get it done.
If you are interested in any of the equipment I'm using, check out my new page Turf and Tools / @turfandtools where I review equipment that I am sent and use. If you'd like to send something for me to show, send me an e-mail timthelawnmowerman@gmail.com
Hi! My name is Tim The Lawnmower Man and I love to clean up overgrown yards and make fun videos doing it. I'm able to do them for free as these videos have ads on them and the revenue from that enables me to cover my cost.
I'm always looking for the worst yards around. Sometimes I drive around looking for them, sometimes viewers send me suggestions.

He also saves newspaper (no glossy inserts) to put on top of the soil in the fall when the garden has finished (here in the USA). When spring comes, he tills the newspaper into the soil. His gardens are amazing and the amount of yield he has enough to give away to friends and still have enough to can for the winter. Wish you the best of luck with your garden.

Just a couple of tips for your Home veggie Garden (1) You have Chickens, when cleaning them out Put all their droppings in a Nylon type carrot sack a stick through the top and suspend in a big plastic barrel (top removed of course) fit a tap at the bottom sit it on a few blocks to allow the tap to be used with a watering Can , It is THE Best liquid fertilizer your veggie Garden can get ! (2) Growing Garlic, If you want them to sprout faster , You put your bulbs or Cloves through a false winter, Pop them in the freezer overnight, next morning move to the fridge They will start producing shoots very quickly , Plant them out and enjoy Your Garlic !

This is a great video, Tim! The best of both channels; some extremely overgrown yard and a veggie garden/life on the farm update. I hope your loyal Tim The Lawnmower Man watchers take a good look at Turf and Tools, so much wonderful content there. Looking forward to the next episode of this massive yard cleanup. Thanks for sharing!🥰❤👍

You were struggling to walk through the grass....it was like you were walking in 3 ft of snow! Thank goodness for the flail mower...it is such a work horse! Love your new property. I hope you have many years of happiness there.

watching the podcast live last night, now watching this video.. poor flail mower 😭 .. i remember years ago working on a small farm and using the tractor rotovator next to an old fence, the sheer panic and dread when it suddenly loudly clunked and stopped because of the barbed wire id uncovered.. i feel for your flail mower and you tim

Love my hand tools! Great for planting and weeding. Nothing beats fresh potatoes washed with skins on, lightly boiled and then with a little butter on to eat. Yes keep them moist for a week until they root.

That machine is awesome! Can’t imagine how many big bags of grass you will haul out of there! Got a lot of stuff hanging off the fence too…that will be a lot! There are mysterious things under all that grass! - watching from Lake Wales, Florida

We have two large allotment plots, there was just one until I noticed that the very thick bramble bushes covered a large section of the land behind my first plot. It was known as “No man’s land” as no one wanted it, it was used as a rubbish dump, sacks of rubbish buried under these brambles four feet deep! I put in for it to our council snd got it. Eight months later, we were growing more produce and fruits trees planted. It was just myself doing the clearing hence the length of time to have it up and producing. Msny tips runs ensued as you can imagine.😃👏👍

My grandmother’s voice always echo through when I see things of this nature. She would say you can’t help being poor, but you can help being nasty. There is little excuse for this type of neglect.

On the potato bed, you only add more soil if the potatoes are indeterminate. Determinant potatoes only grow so much.
Grocery store produce is sprayed with a growth inhibitor solution to stop them from growing so they store longer.

  • @albjamin5213

You’re going to have about a dozen or more potatoes per plant. Once the plants start to grow tall you’re going to hill them up. Meaning hoeing up the soil around the plants. Making a small hill. You will then keep hilling them until the plants mature. I spent much of my childhood hilling potatoes as my father loved a huge garden. We usually planted 6 to 8, 50ft rows yielding several hundred pounds of potatoes each year. They store easily in wooden bins in a cool dry dark place in the cellar. Carrots can be stored in large trash cans filled with saw dust from a wood mill.

Omg, wow! What a terrible mess, but seriously, you did an incredible job👌. Hopefully it will stay this way after you've left 🤞. I commented before the video finished, so I'm back to say that was funny when you panned up to the top of the tree 😅👌

The owners should have bagged the rest of that trash and walked their yard to make sure you didn't run over any hidden trash or debris.

Great one Tim, I wonder why they left rubbish in the back knowing Tim was coming to do the back garden, should have moved all the junk into one spot, maybe a cnr. In the garden once the bin was filled up..
