  • Five former clerks of of Justice Thurgood Marshall gathered at Harvard Law School to discuss the justice's legacy in advance of an upcoming biopic. Harvard Law Professors William B. Fisher, Randall Kennedy, Martha Minow, Carol Steiker and Mark Tushnet participated in the discussion, which was moderated by Professors Tomiko Brown-Nagin and Kenneth Mack.

    Justice Marshall was making the point as spoken by Dr. Minow @13:56 that you MUST LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE in all decisions. If you bend the law here, what's to stop your enemy from doing the same against you somewhere down the road? There's nothing to stop them, and that's the point. Make sure you don't do anything today that will compromise your abilities and accesses TOMORROW.

    Nice to see Dr. Minow on the panel. I was afraid she might go off into the unknown after quitting deanship. She is an inspiring woman.
