Easy way to check you remote without even changing batteries. Just my 2 cents. I'm sure someone posted this already. If you used to boxes like the fire stick then you might be spoiled on using WiFi remote controls. I'm not sure about the newer remotes but you can do two things to check your remote without removing batteries. First grab your cell phone and turn it camera on. It's easier to do a facial camera then a front cam. Once you see your cam functioning point the front of your remote towards your front or rear camera. Press each button on the remote ANY REMOTE FROM ANY TV will look as if your pointing s flashing flashlight at your cell. If you press each button at least one time you'll feel as if your remote turned into a flashlight. Once you confirm that the remote is working (lighting through your cam) then there is a 95% chance it is fine. Obviously you should try the same test with new batts if it fails this test. Second: Make sure there is nothing blocking you infrared sending on the tv. They used to be obvious but they are making them smaller now days. The operators manual will show you where it is. If you have a large tv or a not so large anything sitting in front of or blocking the view of your infrared sensor will cause the tv to fail to do remote commands. FYI Infrared is slightly above the human eyes ability. Domestic animals can see your remote flashing. You can even teach your dog to do tricks by pointing different keys at your pet. I'm getting out of scope but I hope I may have helped save a good set of batteries. PS if the remote light emission appears dim then replace batteries.
@@mdubb9621 Ambilight is a philips thing where they mount a bunch of LED's to the back of the tv, so that the wall behind the tv lights up in the same colour as the corresponding part of the screen. It looks great, but not worth the poor general quality ofthe tv's

Only thing that works on mine is the white google voice button. My hdmi shows but when I press the buttons on my remote to go to Netflix or something all it says is no signal. Can’t go to the Home Screen or anything

After trying several times and the remote still not working I used a dry, clean, Q-tip, and wipe all around where the batteries go in repeated all of the steps from the video, and it is working perfectly
Not the solution I was looking for, my tv arrived yesterday and the remote doesn’t pair (BT) with the TV. Managed to pair it for a couple of seconds then it just looses connection over and over again. Anyone had the same problem?
Hold Google Assistant button + Volume low (-) button at the same time for 5 seconds, the TV remote bluetooth will show in your bluetooth setting and then you will be able to pair it.
Worked for me the first time. Cycled through The steps twice and it was fixed. Excellent Vid. BTW the remote is called Replacement Remote for Philips NH800UP
You might not believe this: but I look inside the case and a little corrosion had built up on the spring. I lick the back end of a battery as the case was to narrow to clean. *WORKED like a new nickel, afterwards!!* Got tired of putting new batteries in, slapping it against the wall or banging my head against a wall!!
