OMG!!! I have had my 2020 Ford Escape Titanium for a couple of months now and I didn't know it could park itself everywhere. I thought it was only for parallel parking only. I am going to the store right now just to have it park in a normal spot!!!

Im still haven’t tried it out on my car. I get frustrated that it takes too long to locate spot. Then I completely give up when other cars come up behind mine.
I totally get that! I would be too nervous to do it other with cars behind me as well. Either way, it’s a great feature!
My 2017 has an area on the instrument panes that says Park assist. I don't know how to use it.
I will need to experiment with this on Saturday when no one is around until I figure out what parameters need to be met before it selects a spot. Just an empty spot isn't enough I guess. I wonder if the lines have to be bright white and fresh. Maybe there has to be a car on each side for it to detect a spot.
Or maybe this is the first thing that breaks.
With the steering wheel moving without the car in motion put stain on the steering system
Ok, I think mine is broken. I pressed the button and picked backing into a spot like you just did and I was going 4 mph and it just kept going past empty spots, 5, 6 and finally found one but by that time someone had come up behind me so I had to keep going, they went around me and I started it again and it did the same thing, just kept going past parking spots. 5 in a row that had no one in them and it didn't select them. I'm confused. I was trying to park it in my parking spot but I couldn't get it to see my spot. How does it work? Was I going too fast? Does it take this long?

Not impressed. It passed so many open spots before finding a space to pull into. And then, it took forever to back into a space... having to pull out of the space and back into it. I haven't tried out the park assist feature on my Titanium hybrid, but after this video, I'm not sure I'm interested. This seems like a very beta version still.
I believe it’s designed to work best between 2 cars rather than a load of empty bays. There is a demo of it on here at a dealership with a full car park, really tight spot and it’s impressive to see in action
What in the hell is she looking at? She’s definitely not looking at the camera. Yeah I had one of these as a loaner vehicle and I tried the feature. It’s pretty neat but I can do it and half the time if I just manually park. It’s not something you want to do if there’s traffic around you because the traffic around you was gonna get really annoyed because it takes too long. That being said, it does do a pretty damn good job parking most of the time
