At her first audition, She said she wanted to be A Superstar. Well ANGELina your dream is coming true.
When she was six and visited a bombed out mid eastern village with her Persian grandmother, she came across
a shoe less girl trying to make money by weighing visitors in the street. Angelina then removed her favorite
shoes and gave them to the girl, vowing to never wear shoes while performing to bring attention to all the people
in the world without shoes. She has never veered from this vow. When she told the girl she wanted to be a vocal
superstar when she grew up, the girl said she would pray for her that he dream would become reality. It has.

Whitney Houston was 29 when she recorded this song. Here's a 13 year old crushing it. When she turns around with that cute smile and a wave you realize she's just a kid. She has the gift. Perhaps an old soul.

She makes every song her own. And in most cases improves it.
I was hoping you two were going to get back to some Angelina! This was a very courageous song for a 13 year old to take on, but Angelina seems to always be testing the limits of what she can do. If you listen to just the audio of this one it is almost impossible to get your mind around the fact that this is a kid that's still in middle school singing this. I also always have to point out when someone reacts to this.... just a few weeks after this, Angelina sang this song with the David Foster (the guy that wrote it for Whitney) backing her on keyboard when they performed at a charity dinner together. People very deep in the music industry really seem to understand what a rare and special artist Angelina Jordan is.
Now that you have done two of Angelina's "loud" songs, you need to check out her real specialty... soft, intimate, emotional vocals that will make you feel every word... There's a lot of them, but I highly recommend "Stay" or "A Million Years Ago" (both can be found on her cover channel).
I agree, "Stay", "A Million Years Ago", or one of my favorites and she wrote herself "Shield" i really do enjoy that song!
The astonishing thing about this recording, is that she starts this incredible |Whitney song in the upper half of her vocal range and still climbs those octaves. . Who the hell has the nerve to do that?

Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤💙 Loved your reaction guys !!!

If you go deeper and watch her lip movements a few places, specially during the end, it shows it must have been edited. Probably a couple of takes this time. Donald Lancon analyzed it, and it is pretty obvious. That said, it does not take away anything from this performance. It is outstanding. Stay safe, my dear friend 💕

Angelina is very expressive in this performance and it's a great thing to see. IMO, this is not even her best work. It does not even crack my top 10 Angelina list. She is at her best when she covers Adele or Lana del Rey or other jazz great from the past. That's where she shines and where she has no equal.

You poor souls have yet to hear some of her best. Wait till you hear some of those. You've barely touched on what she can do and with age she just keeps getting better and better. My personal favorite cover is WHEN WE WERE YOUNG, but THE SHOW MUST GO ON, and a few more covers are right up there. She does a great job on anything Adele, Winehouse, Or Lana Del Rey if you are looking for some really good covers. Compare her versions to the originals and see which you think is best. IMO, she does Adele better than Adele, and Del Rey better than Del Rey. for sure. Her original that she wrote SHIELD is something that is outstanding not just for a 12 year old but for anyone to come up with. Her AGT performances, all 3 of them, will blow you way.

There really isn't another singer on the horizon as versatile as Angelina. She has covered so many different artist, and always does a great job, often better than the original. And she's done all this (about 125 covers and 5 originals, 3 she wrote) before turning 14. Any song of her's you select will be great, but in order to best see her versatility, I recommend the following 4 covers:

This Gloria Gaynor (1978) song was the one and only song to win a Grammy in the one time Disco category. If you listen to Gloria's version, it's great. But Angelina's is just as good. Gloria is 30; Angelina is 12.

But this is my favorite. When she crescendos in this song, she tears me up every time. She really shows her vocal chops in this performance. Fabulous!

I'm speaking of her outdoor concert performance at age 11. I love this performance but nobody reacts or suggests it for reaction. Why to you think that is?
@@jerrylarocque9600 To tell you the truth Jerry, I don't know why that song does not get more attention. I know that I really like it, but wouldn't say it is one of my favorites. AJ has less than half a million views on YT, while the original artist, Alan Walker, has almost 3 Billion views with a female singer I do not recognize. Walker is insanely popular in Europe, so he has a big following. He is a Norwegian citizen, and he is a big fan of Angelina. He ask her to sing in his "Heading Home" concert where she performed "Faded" and "Sing Me to Sleep"; both are his songs. There are 1000's of fans in the audience, and the chant you here is: AJ, AJ, AJ, so they are also fans of Angelina. I think she's 11 here, but I'm not sure. @@wajj1842 i watched her performance with Alan Walker. I enjoyed it but was more enamored with her outdoor performance. I prefer her as a jazz singer but this performance of Faded really hit home with me. The combination of her gentle voice with the occasional belt really resonates with me. Hi! Just wanted to say two things. First, I appreciate your knowledge and input just as much as I do Rusty's. You've both obviously done extensive research, which I appreciate as a lover of research and as a former teacher. Secondly, you mentioned tearing up when she crescendos "When We Were Young." So do I! I can simply "replay" it in my memory, without even watching the video, and her voice in my head gets me emotional and that and other emotionally-driven songs she sings! Can't wait to see what her album will have on it!

I totally recommend a reaction to Halestorm (specifically Lzzy Hale) probably something from their latest album (I think it's called black vultures) and then one of Lzzy's acoustic showings.
