“Well, if no one is going to give me my massage I’ll do it myself.” One groo I had having eaten his dinner laced with sardines (in oil) would use the sofa arm to wipe his whiskers clean. I only found out when a stinky smell developed one evening; ended up making washable covers. The current hound has morning back wiggles all over our bed in the morning when we have got up (6 am he awakens climbs on the bed and snuggles down for an hour between us). As it’s a king size bed he has a great time with a big grin on his face and legs flapping in all directions. A joyous start to the day for us all! The best dogs ever!
Mine did this.. he hated his coat. I took it off, laid it down. He grabbed it and proceeded to destroy it in front of me. Needless to say he doesn’t ware anymore coats.. I still love him..lol
I have an Italian Greyhound. She does the same thing; shake from head to toe then flops over on her back and wriggles across the carpet like a snake. Every Day
I've had 3 ex racing greyhounds and none did this but their coats were off as soon as we came in due to the panting. Maybe she's trying hard to get that polyester fleece off? I live in the one of the New England states, blizzards on occasion, nor' easters, below 32 degrees most of the winter. If, if, a coat were needed it came right off as soon as inside. Very beautiful black greyhound Roxy is!!
Yes, one of our girls will do that, rub against the wall, or walk up to you and if you start patting her, she will kind of jump into you some. One of our males we lost a few years ago to bone cancer would do it as well.
I've seen my greys try to rub off a hat or a snood like that. it's odd that he's rubbing his head, too, though. Maybe he discovered a way to get a good scratch, while trying to ditch the coat. If he's just come in from the cold, maybe he's trying to get warm? What an adorable dog😍
*My eleven year old has NEVER done that... and I would NEVER leave a leash attached with an unattended dog. Nor would I leave that collar on with the dog unattended indoors - I have a break-away collar with her tags" in a Tag Bag* . Oh yeah, why is the coat on?
Reminds me of the Big Bang episode in which Sheldon has Leonard wear the itchy sweater as punishment. Not saying you are trying to punish Roxy but I think the coat has to go.
looks to me as if the coat is itching. maybe the statics, maybe he is allergic to the material? i have a very similar coat for my galgo and cheap fleece blankets on the couch. when he gets up from under a blanket there is a lightningstorm in my living room. he doesn't care at all.
Yep. Our female does this. We can also just touch her back near base of tail and she goes nuts lol. Must be nerves in her spine reacting to touch and needs to be scratched lol. (My unprofessional opinion😀) BTW- your pup is beautiful 💜
Mine does that, rubbing against a soft surface like a sofa, but only with his face. We think it's probably allegy or something, still trying to figure it out.
this looks like when you put an itchy wool sweater on! so annoying & gross!!! LOL But seriously, try another coat. Roxy looks like this is iterating her and her skin. I also see she has a bald thigh..mine all grew 90 percent of the hair back. try natural soaps and get 1 turkey leg and boil it, making turkey soup. Rox will luv it and her coat will be stupid soft...which is good. I know you like Roast Chicken but the turkey will help !! ;) p.s. Roxy is beautiful!!!

I think he hates the coat. 😂😂😂
me too
Sweater itches his skin, plus his leash is on... recipe for disaster
No, my greyhound doesn't do that. But they are all weirdo's in their own way. Gotta love it!
Excited. Hes got his lead on so getring impatient

Mine do that when they’re excited. Usually against the side of my bed, when they know I’m going to get up. It’s perfectly normal Greyhound behaviour 😂
Get that coat and lead off he says
gurl that grey hound do be twerking on the haters lol
😂
Yes
Yes my Greyhound does against the side of the bed when she wakes in the morning
If the owner doesn't realize that he HATES that coat, he shouldn't own a greyhound.
Not all greyhounds like that coat.
Remove that leash? Why is he dragging it around the house?
Probably wants that cost off is the likely answer. But a beautiful dog.
Whatever form it takes.. Jaq'n it always looks the same.
he does not like his coat, he wants you to remove it and take the leash off

Hahahahahahah.. Not a greyhound, I have a mudhol hound, but he does exactly that! 😂😂😂

Every time I put a sweater on our whippet she does this when we come back from the walk.
I have rescued 7 off them since 1993, and all of them did it at one time or the other. They loved to lean on me .
That's how dogs hug, leaning

Oh my god, why is the dog still leashed?

I got whippets, they don't do it much but I do. Always got a itch or a flea somewhere.
Mine would go crazy if I left his leash on! Furniture is always good to take care of a itch if humans aren’t available.
My dog does the same thing when he wears a jacket!
I wondered if my hound was the only one who only tolerates his coat for the walk.
If the coat is fleece it gives off a lot of static, my Greyhound Evie does the same until I remove it.

Sorry I think the coat needs to come off dear human.
My whippet is doing that too..... she rubs her side against the wall.... not as dramatic as your hound though 😀
I haz notz tried thatz but it'z givzin' me the ASMR! 😊 Thankz fur the tipz furiend. I will givez this a tryz! 😃 ~ Xander Greyhound 🐾

Oh please! Take off the coat! She doesn´t like it!

I feel so sorry for this dog. The owners are fools
