I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!

    I visited a friend in Paris one week, about 25 years ago. I had never seen such a small apartment before but with the high price of RE in Paris, it wasn't all that unusual. He had a full sized bed that would come down from the ceiling via a hydraulic system in the living area and would end its descent just above the coffee table and sofa. Ingenious! And in the morning, a switch of a button would return it to its lofty stored spot in the ceiling. This was his very own design but had to keep it private because it would have been illegal to install in that part of the city.

    • @blackmamba5380
      @blackmamba5380 Před 2 lety +1

      Is it illegal to install such mechanism in Paris or in that bulding or apartment?? Sounds insane...

    • @claudiakarl7888

      @@blackmamba5380 I think it depends on the way a ceiling is constructed. Maybe it’s not fit to carry that weight.

  • @BarzillaiBlue

  • @mrskye08

    One rule to not forget about these space saving furniture, most especially the transforming beds, is that you'll have to use them everyday. Imagine yourself setting up your bed every night and tucking it every morning. Eventually you might feel it like a chore and decide to just leave it at one particular configuration permanently. Having a mechanical versus automatic is also something to think on.
    Anyway i think the crib one is a great idea. Just take care of the furniture so it would still look new once you set it up as a regular bed.

      Although that sort of bunk bed isn’t so uncommon in Germany and affordable. Even Ikea has a number of things like it - or children‘s bed that can expand when the kid grows.

    I think a lot of people here are forgetting that there's been plenty of times in human history where people lived in small spaces. Bigger spaces meant more fuel to heat them and more material and this more expensive to build them.
    If there's one major thing we've lost in modern society, it's not so much the indoor living space so much as it's the nature that used to be just outside.

  • @hannahs5707

      Agreed 100%. The people living in smaller areas to save money probably cannot afford the cost of these things. Especially the installation costs of a lot of them. Plus things that can be re-adjusted take time to do so. I doubt 95% of people would do so unless they really NEED to do so. And like I said- are those who “need” it actually able to afford it?

    The author does like to from scratch, czcams.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.

    Can the bloom frame window have weight bearing shutters that turn into a floor? Would this feature not add to the expense of an apt,and would it be zone able for a building that doesn't already have balconies? How easy is it to clean if someone wanted it off of an upstairs master bedroom/family room/dinette? Is it available manual - in pulley system or manual hydraulic/engineered design?

      LOL that's a lot of questions, I loved the idea of it but I couldn't walk out onto a glass floor, I wouldn't feel safe!

      @@dianeyoung2914 Ya, your right, but that's why I was wondering about shutters that turn into a somewhat solid feeling floor on the balcony .
