    I installed the hood struts as well, and did the same. Raising the hood made it that much easier

  • @skrsys
    @skrsys Před 2 lety +7

    It would probably be easier to clip the bottom bolt first then the top bolt last. Since you would be able to hold on to the thicker part of the strut.

    Thanks for explaining the catch can. Never knew we needed one. Dozens of videos put them on without explaining what it is. Just subscribed.

    I went a head and ordered this because of your video. Thanks! I ordered the one for the 2.3L engine 2021.5 thru 2023. On the 2.3 it is very easy to install according to the J&L video.

    I like your shackles better than the ones I got from Rough Country. Mine do have play and yours are super tight. Thanks for the explanation of the catch can. I definitely want to get one now. I did get the RC hood struts which install a little different but lift it up automatically as soon as you unlatch it. Excellent video!

    @fleshharrowerx9894 Před 2 lety +2

    Agreed on the soft shackles or at least normal shackles that you can just use, got enough stuff to play around with when I need to use a strap to pull someone out - don't need the extra messing around. Also ,if those shackle bolts are already tight, imagine how much fun it will be to undo them after a pull - there's a reason that you always back off a normal shackle bolt about 1/8 turn from tight before you pull with it.

    I normally don’t care for the Bronco vids but these mods translate well to other vehicles. Thanks for this info. I was thinking on those hood lifts you needed to remove the hood stake first. At least you got it on the second one.

    Some engines have the oil separator build in to the PCV system out of the gate. It would be nice if all engines came like that. Smart upgrade otherwise.

    • @BackroadDriver
      @BackroadDriver  Před 2 lety

      Actually, it's the same part number as in the description in the video. The same catch can works for 2015 through 2022 motors. 5.0, 3.5 ,2.7, it doesn't matter the JLT will get the job done.

  • @LMacNeill
    @LMacNeill Před 2 lety

    I assume that JLT oil-separator would work on a 2.3, yeah? Because that engine is *only* GDI, with no port-injection, and it *really* needs one. The kit looks generic enough -- would it work?

    • @BackroadDriver
      @BackroadDriver  Před 2 lety

      I'm pretty positive that it works. I saw in a form somewhere where it was hooked up on a 2.3. that's where I got the idea to put it on the 27 bronco.
