    Yes, he did his own makeup most of the time. Ziggy was so revolutionary when it happened. Bringing theatricality to rock n roll was pretty much unheard of. The Beatles started doing it with their music, but Bowie brought it to the stage. He changed everything! ❤

    The greatest Rock Star the world has ever seen. The segue between 'Wild Eyed Boy From Frrecloud' into 'All the Young Dudes' is another major highlight of this legendary show.

      @@zaradragonia9863 Your right. Lucky enough to have been born at the right time to see so many great gigs at the Odeon in its hey day. But looking back, the final Ziggy show in 73 by David, turned out to be very special indeed.

      @@RonniePeterson did I tell you that it is my favourite gig ever? And that Rock'n'roll Suicide is one of my favourite songs ever too? Especially the way he extends his hands out to the audience. Amazing lyrics and music and style and dress sense (I love him in his little shorts..so sexy legs!)

    Beautiful! One of my favorite performances ever. Bowie is brilliant, and Mick Ronson one of the great underrated guitarists of the 80s.

    Mick Ronson, one of the great guitarists of all time and really did help propel Bowie to Superstardom. Ronson's solo breaks were always a huge highlight of their shows. The Spiders From Mars made me a Bowie fan when in those days, everyone had ambivalent feelings about David Bowie. Extreme genius on display, that entire Ziggy Stardust concert on video is mesmerizing, when we saw it for the first time in the theater it freaked out the house. David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars, one of the best concerts I ever saw, Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎶

    Watching Bowie perform live always makes me remember what he said through his entire career...."I was scared shit of being on stage....except if I could act as a character, then I could immerse myself in it and let go."

    So basically Bowie had been banging on the door for many years but didn't break through, then wrote an album about a superstar and played that star like was him, he then became that star because the crowds played their part to make him a superstar, and then stuck to his own script and ended that star.
    An impressive hybrid of fiction intertwining with it's self created reality, and an impressive story of man in control of it all.

    Wow wow wow from a Bowie fan from way back . Thanks . He is truly a superstar . His later concerts where he is just being him show a man so settled in himself it’s beautiful to see given that it wasn’t until Ziggy and his cast of alter egos that he was able to break through , personally I believe Hunky Dory is a better album , Ziggy is a story that only has a beginning and an end , the middle 3 tracks detract from the brilliance .

    Guys, how great you are, you have made me happy by reacting to Bowie in his best concert, in my opinion.
    I have seen it many times and always hooked and fascinated me. Pure Ziggy who gives an iconic performance. Just before starting to sing Rock 'n Roll Suicide, addresses the audience and makes a speech where he says goodbye to the tour and breaks up with the band, leaving everyone surprised, even more so The Spiders from Mars.
    I'm 62 and I'm a big early Bowie fan. Thanks and Keep on rocking
    Greetings from Barcelona ❤

    FREAK OUT IN A MOONAGE day dream, as the glitter twins muscled each other in the front row, even at the show our art class gang of Hunky Dory`s rocked in 73, the CTS bus ride was the show with the city glitter chics dogging the burb`s avon twins in the back with us in the middle egging it on, but back to the video which DUDE you were into the whole Bowie 70s vibe but the scowl on millennial girl paints it all for me...Keep on rockin & giddyup Busypeeps

    Blows me away that some 50 years later, some people are just catching on to Ziggy. Personally, I was hooked when my older brother introduced me to Space Oddity back when I was about 10 years old. That was 1970. So to all that are just learning about Ziggy, my question is: where you been all this time?

    If you want to know what kind of underwear he wear, look at “watch that man” from that same live, in the minute 1:39 🤣🤣

  • @miki03soimu
    @miki03soimu Před 2 měsíci +1

    You wear sports underwear with that outfit, to answer your question. He did not wear normal underwear exaclty to avoid unwanted incidents. There are videos on the internet from the changing room and you can see the underwear. You don't find it offensive because he moves like a professional dancer, so he is never indecent. Bowie's image as Ziggy was carefully planned and controlled. He knew exactly how many steps he had to make from one point to another, how to bend and turn, his costumes worked as they should, covering what needed to be covered, coming off in a second when he needed to change. Nothing slipped, nothing broke, and they were preserved to this day in perfect condition. Bowie spent a lot of money hiring Kansai Yamamoto to desigh his costumes.
