I accidentally stumbled on something that may be relevant. I have a three year old Apollo 3/4" RP backflow valve. It starting dripping out of the relief valve. I shut off both inlet and outlet shut off valves, anticipating that I was going to have to take the valve apart. I then, spent about an hour reading your trouble shooting instructions. They are excellent. I, then, went back to the valve to begin the trouble shooting protocol. I initially opened the outlet valve and then the inlet valve. The water blasted out of the relief valve and, then, immediately, stopped. No more drip.
Apparently, there was debris somewhere in one of the seals and the sudden blast of water pressure must have blown it out.
Good for now. From despair to repose in one hour.

Brand new new Watts LF009 3/4" Backflow preventer with new strainer. All 4 valves bled for air. Also new pressure regulator in line to house. I'm getting fluctuating pressures, sometimes no pressure in the house. Garden hose at one end of the house is significantly stronger than garden hose at opposite end of house. Kitchen sink faucet pressure significantly less than bathroom faucet pressure. Any ideas?

Are you having Flow issues or pressure issues? I’d remove the regulator and put in a jumper and see if anything changes. If not, then you’ve likely got a flow problem. Could be caused by tuberculation of the line depending on its composition. Maybe you have a Throttled valve somewhere? Could be lots of things but hope that helps. I’ve installed brand new regulators several times and they were faulty.

Great. I just installed my double check. It has debris or I did not start up properly. How do I clean my FEBCO 350 double check? Water flows in, but not out! Do I need a strainer if the water is the same as my house water?

Hi Richard - Thanks for checking out our video! We would really recommend having a backflow certified plumber look into your situation however. There are many situations where this could occur, it would be best for a licensed backflow plumber to assist you with your project on site.
