I feel very lucky to have free access to such high class lectures. A big thank you!
I know Im kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released movies online?
I mean, this is the clearest response to D4 I was up to find. My goodness
@@graysonmaximilian8516 I just google the movie and add "online". Why what's wrong?
5:20 Quick Recap on Classical Variation
14:10 Quick Recap on Rubenstein Variation
21:45 Quick Recap on Kmoch Variation
Thanks!
Thank you a lot
3 years later but... thanks
Your welcome.
This one always gets me!! With the zeal and innocence he says "In the middle of the centre".
My son Aneesh, 7 years, watched this video and he narrated as. " The lecture was very good. I learnt very much and thanx for it. Will like to watch more vlectures. ".
Grand Master Akobian, you are a star who rdiates light unselfishly to all chess enthusiasts. You are our world champion and this is no flatter.
Roland Orro from the Philippines.
@10:32... he wants to poosh, you put your piece in... so he cannot poosh.". Good chess wisdom. I love GM Akobian. He taught me several pieces of chess wisdom, like "You need to come in with your pieces.". This little bit of wisdom has won me more than a few chess games.
@10:34 ... You put your piece in to BLUUUOCKKK him!
Akobian is a good teacher. I really enjoy this class.
i love the way he teaches it sinks in thanks for your great work Mr Akobian
Thank you grandmaster for another great lecture.
I wanted to know more about Nimzo-Indian and CCSCSL had fulfilled my wishes with Akobian Sir lecture....Amazing thank you Sir
10:33 - _Akobian sounds like a Four Star General leading his troops into battle, hell bent on crushing an opposing army!_
The sweet “question“ after that was funny as well😂
Excelent lecture, thank you for making it available
Awesome stuff! Thank you guys!
I just cant wait his lectures ;).
Hi are u still playing chess
Akobian clearly doesn't know his chess history, everyone knows the Nimzo-Indian is named after Mr. Indian
whose first name was Nimzo, if I remember correctly
And Queen's Gambit was named after Mr. Gambit
@@mritunjoyguha9635 no it was named after queen the rock group
😂😂😂

Very addictive topic, really helps me improving
when I win the lottery, my first port of call will be St Louis. I wanna thank the club in person, and maybe have a coffee at the Kingside. Thanks Grandmaster and ALL involved.
Varuzhan Akobian is an amazing teacher!
A very good lecture, thank you!
Very good overview. I love playing the Nimzo-Indian. Now maybe I'll actually know what I'm doing.
Good lecture. Thank you.
Excellent lecture master, very understandable,im speechless to ur abilities in teaching
Thank you Mr Akobian / St louis chess club such high quality course
There is something about his teaching's that no other teacher teaches. Var is great
Sometimes I am playing a game and just think of one move then I hear Var scolding me “that is just move. What is variation?”
Thank you so much for this post. I will use your video as a guide in my present CZcams video project. Thanks. I'll reword it differently though.
Thank you very much
Easy to understand for a begining player like me.
Thank you very much..
Excellent teacher indeed, even im a filipino, easy to digest ur lecture master,
his reaction to the chairs moving around are quite comical
Oh my gosh that gets me every time 😂
Thank u very much,
5:20 "He wants the E4 square, are you gonna give him the E4 square?" "Nooo..." "No! How you gonna stop it?" "Ba3" *WutFace*
he said bishop d3 but ok
@@teebow_8114 He said bishop takes knight
GM Akobian is the best teacher
LOVE FROM PAKISTAN.................
It's been 8 years now. What did u achieve in chess ? I hope u reached whatever goal u made
These kids are advanced! I can barely follow this lecture. Kudos to the chess club for producing kids like this.
He called Arjun Erigasi several times in this video.
a huge thanks
great job Varuzhan
Very important thank you
Great class!
He is one of the best !!!!
Very good!
What if, at 3:07 they don't play Kf3 but (c-pawn) to C5? How to solve that elegantly?
As an adult I love this class
Very well explained
What do I play if whites second move is not c4? E3 for example? I still played bishop with check, but eventually lost.
Nyc lecture sir. But am still stuck on 11.00 the bishop in the middle of the center
AKobian is awesome, and he sounds like Eastern European Guido Sarducci.
Can u give me accerlated dragon for black against 1st move e4.plzzzz
You are amazing sir
I m good against e4 but facing many problems against d4 by 1600 rated players due to lack of clarity in nimzo defense this akobian really helped me
GM Akobian fav word....pressure
You are fantastic
Greetings to Akobian from Austria, Iran 👍🏽💪🏽
He called Arjun Erigasi several times in this video.
"Safety of your king is the number one priority" -Varuzhan Akobian
... Same as CrazyRussianHacker "Safety is our number priority"😂😂😂
Exact same thing i thought
Classic Russian. Btw, who is the champion in your profile?
I enjoyed the lecture, but I question (though I am a club player) whether the classical variation shown is really something to learn. The final position is not in my databases, and most players with White play e3 before Nf3 (a major point in the variation shown is that you draw the White queen to d4, gaining a tempo, after ...cxd4 because retaking with the bishop is not an option since Nf3 is played first in this lecture). Also, if this still happened, the queen would most likely move to the a file instead of staying on the c file later, and why would the rook go to c1? Yes, it is a great position for Black, but would you really end up there? Seems a bit like wishful thinking. The Rubinstein system dealt with here is more interesting, in my mind anyway.
I'm still a little unsure. Did GM Akobian go on to win his game?
Yes.
Where can I find the games mentioned? 23:13
Very important vedio
veery good teacher
@6:47 when the Queen is chased by the bishop
Why white didnt capture the knight and attack black queen
CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME Please
Pramit Amatya I'm guessing because white wanted the bishop pair, or it might be because he didn't want to improve the position of black's queen (with her being on the long diagonal eyeballing the d pawn)
@1:08 Asked Arjun (literally an Indian) name of the opening. I could not stop laughing 😂😂
make the playback speed 1.5x. you’re welcome.
What program is he using for the chess board and recording moves?
Brian Finnerty chessbase
The first time the teacher called the name Arjun, I was shocked ... How could he know my name !!! It was like he was questioning me and praising me at the same time ... I am so amateur..
Sir please tell what do we do if in the classical variation after A3 Bc3 then why not bc3

Damaged pawn structures for white
GO GO!
GM arjun was a student in this class
I love Varuzha Nakobian
isnt a3 a move as soon as the knight is pinned? i think Nigel Short has played that move
as well as many lesser players.
+Mark Callaghan Yes and then you always take the knight. The reason (one of them) is that since you usually want to play c5, that particular knight will have a future home on b5 or less likely d5, both of which will be very annoying. You always play to your pawn structure. That is how you decide which pieces to exchange. And in this case, exchanging the dark square bishop (which might get boxed in by your own pawns) for a potential annoying knight is a decent plan. And, if you retreat, you give up a tempo. If you attack you don't lose tempo.
Scy Thankyou for your thoughtful response
I think "Arjun" is his best student xD , I hear a lot of his name in GM Akobians video
isnt qA4 a free bishop?
What about 3. a3 ?
can you play this against E4?
knuckle head This is called Alekhine
what happens when white plays Be2 after ...Bb4?
4. Be2 is not a legal move. 4. Bd2 seems to surrender White's birthright, the initiative. Black can play 4. d4, to get into a favorable Queen's Gambit position. Notice that White's black squared Bishop is misplaced, with g5 and f4 being its usual squares.
Eli D.
Sorry for the "Fat Finger". 4. D5 is Black's reply to 4. Bd2.
@11:45 To push and get rid of your weakness, are you going to let him do that?
He probably meant to push and attack your weakness, are you going to let him do that?
Every time I watch this I feel bad for myself
Arjun always gets the puzzles, quick study!
I'm feel like he doesn't explain why some of the moves are good or should be played
he explained each move maybe you were not concentrating
This level kids just know general moves and ideas
Been my teacher for years my ratings went up 250 points
the best defense
More 🙁
Could you please make a video about nimzo Indian also but with this moves:
