  • Change A Clutch Slave Cylinder On A Motorcycle. In this video I show how I changed out the Clutch Slave Cylinder. The bikes clutch would not engage at all. No clutch. Checked fluids and re- bleed system no joy. The motorcycle is a 1999 Suzuki Intruder VS800. Replaced the clutch slave cylinder with a brand new one. Fixed problem. Clutch works good.

Did the slave cylinder fix the problem having same issue, already replace the lever master cylinder but no luck there. Better to get new one or rebuild kit?

Better to get a new slave cylinder or just rebuild original one with gaskets? I just paid $100 bucks for new one so hopefully it solves it for good

thank you, I have the same bike, I have never had a hydraulic clutch before and my clutch went out I took it to the dealer and they bled the system but two weeks later it did the same thing, so I will bleed it this time and try once more, if it happens again I'll try replacing both the master and the slave... one at a time of course...lol

I have a 1995 Suzuki VS800GSL. When you remove your old slave cylinder, at 37-38 seconds, it looks like it does have the retainer (part# 23117-38A00) on it, the new one that you install does not look like it has the retainer on it--at 46 seconds. My new slave cylinder did not come with a retainer, I re-used my old one.

If a slave cylinder goes bad could it leak as well? I have a 03 Honda VTX1800s and keep losing my clutch since the winter has been over and thought it was a bleeder screw but checked yesterday and seems its just leaking around the bottom of the case of the slave cylinder.

Did it just pop right off? I took out the bolts in mine, and it's stuck tight on there.

Could this be my problem when cannot get pressure build up after rebuilding the slave cylinder at clutch handle? I have a 1996 Intruder. 1400cc. But I cannot for the life of me get any back pressure at the handle. It won't bleed to the bleeder valve even. Should it get pressure even before the fluid makes it to the lower slave?

Question, just rebuilt the clutch and now the thing does not engage till you let the handle all the way out, I have no free play at the handle, is this the norm ??? It is a1995 Suzuki intruder VS 800 with a hydraulic clutch.

  • @crescentmoonprinting1418

Do you by chance know the bolt size to the slave cylinder?

I don't see any slave rebuild kits for a 96 suzuki intruder 1400.

@@MrCbell57 no, the slave cylinder. I had to rebuild and was having a hard time finding the kit. Finally found one. Back up and running.👍

I took mine apart. I could not get my push rod to move, even hitting it with a hammer. So how is pressure from the slave going to move it? When in neutral the push rod stays the same as when it is in gear. Do I buy a slave and do what you did without opening up the inner part, rubber parts? Are you a mechanic? Never mind, you are doing it to entertain yourself. I forgot. It is why you don't respond.
