Shadow is ageless actually his body doesn’t exactly age. But I can agree they are canonically close and have only a sibling relationship nothing else
Technically Maria is older than shadow even though he was created through science, she died young on the ark so shadow sees her like a sister older sister but in family tree black doom and Gerald are the fathers so Maria would be Gerald’s granddaughter so shadow would be Maria’s something but I’m not sure what exactly since family trees are complicated, reason I say this is because Gerald is older than Maria and is not her father, family tree again is tricky since it can get messy
