    Very nice catches, Tyson. Looking out the window, I think the snow (or another fall just like it) has made it over to the eastern slopes here in central Alberta. Poor CP 8032 looks like its going to need more than booster cables to get back on the road - looks like its got more problems than CP's "planned maintenance." Maybe it's just me, but if I'd was spending the kind of money one of these costs to buy, I'd be proactive about servicing. With the tonnage moving through, and the amount of leased and run-through power we see, I do wonder sometimes. But that's the "engineer's voice" - who knows how they figure out cost/benefit. If it was an old GP9 or MLW headed for the dead line . . . Anyhow, time to fire up the old Ariens ('74 and they don't build 'em like that anymore) and get after the overnight dump. Take care, stay warm, and many thanks.

    What is with those oversized containers on top of the smaller ones, never saw before. I first thought maybe a delivery strategy, top ones off first... But they all were consistently with the larger on top. Maybe didn't fit on the railcar? How to prevent they slide off.. Hi Tyson; Another great production right here !! Any idea what unfortunate incident befell CN 8032 ? It does look like it has been sitting there for a long while. Well, I guess that is by Ontario snowfall amounts. I suppose in BC it could have been there for maybe a couple of hours. lol. I really enjoyed all of the snow takes. Hereabouts we can only hope to get the amount of snow you enjoy for your shooting locations. I say 'enjoy' , but I am not the person who has to tackle the almost certainly difficult driving conditions. All of your takes were beautiful ones. Unbelievable for me as a European these huge trains. I wish to be with you in BC. I've also done a few railway films in Switzerland and these films got me 'train spotting fever' again. Are there also shots of marshalling yards and shots from the air?

      CN Z112: Deltaport Interterm (Delta, BC) to Brampton Interterm (Toronto, ON).

      These stack train length from 180 to 220 well cars.

    @Trackside Tyson... Iooks like CP 8032 Could use some Wreck Repairs.. also were Trains allowed to Pass the Damaged unit that was on the Siding??

    • @TracksideTyson
      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

      Yes the engine was stored in the back track, trains running on the mainline can run by no problem.

    Incredible. how bad was the derailment?

    • @TracksideTyson
      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

      I Don't believe it was that bad, but the situation throughout BC with flooding and washouts was severe. Thanks for watching!

    My guess is that damaged unit would be deadheaded back to Port Coquitlam yard for repairs

      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

    Longer box units on smaller ones looks unstable ...what they thinkin ?

    • @TracksideTyson
      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

      Definitely not unstable this is very stable and normal for use in Canada and the United States with intermodal trains. Thanks for your comment.

    Why are the long boxcars placed on top, are they empty?

    • @TracksideTyson
      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

      They don’t fit on shorter well cars, they can be safely stacked above. Thanks for your comment.

    Maybe you can tell me which railroad is bigger CN or CP

    • @TracksideTyson
      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

      CP is half the size of CN, being the smallest class 1 railroad in the US, although CP is going through a merge with KCS "Kansas City Southern" so things may be changing soon for CP soon. Thanks for your curiosity questions are always welcome.

    Is it kind of strange that they have dwarf signals in an area that gets heavy snow?

    • @maxrshelltrack7443
      @maxrshelltrack7443 Před 2 lety +1

      If you're talking about the one on the ground they're pretty common must be a switch or side track.

    • @TracksideTyson
      @TracksideTyson  Před 2 lety

      The signal isn't used often to matter, its a back track for storage.
