How To Paint Using a Kitchen Sponge ~Acrylic Painting

  • To create an acrylic painting using a kitchen sponge, begin by gathering your materials: acrylic paints in your desired colors, a canvas or painting surface, a palette or plate for mixing colors, and a clean kitchen sponge.
    First, squeeze a small amount of each paint color onto your palette or plate, ensuring they're easily accessible. Dip the corner or edge of the kitchen sponge into one color at a time. I like to use two colors at the same time, so that they blend as you swirl on them on the canvas.
    Then, lightly press and dab and swirl in all directions the sponge onto the canvas, experimenting with different pressures and angles to achieve varied textures and effects.
    Layer colors and blend them as desired, using the sponge to create dynamic patterns and gradients. Allow each layer to dry (which will happen quickly with acrylic paint) before adding additional colors or details.
    Finally, step back and admire your unique acrylic painting created with the humble kitchen sponge, exploring its versatility and creativity in your artistic process. It's an easy technique that achieve incredible results. Enjoy!

    I enjoy your emotion process. Swings from liking, missing, wanting, indecisive, trying, exploring. Also what is the sequence in visual to sensory decisions. Isn't it nice to have a world of no one judging? Question is what makes it finished? Parts to whole or creativity exhausted or bored or emotion is satisfied and time for dinner!

    Beautiful painting and techniek. I used it already last week in my classes. Only on this painting I like it if there is more different in colours between the sky and the water. Now it looks on the end to much the same blue on water and sky and that makes boring to looked to it. The sky it's much better now as before and is a good balance in peace areas and crowdy areas. This technick have so much potential. Good work Soraya go on with it 👍❤️

    • @SorayaZiziArtist
      @SorayaZiziArtist  Před měsícem

      Ok, glad you tried it. When it looks messy up close is when you need to use your brushes to refine. Use a drop of water on the paint to add softness and blending along the edges. Hope that helps!
