In 2015, Kerli left Los Angeles where she had resided since 2008 and returned to her birthplace of Estonia. She sought solitude and the mythical tranquility that could only circulate throughout the lush forested landscapes among the animals, plants, and energies under the Eastern European moon where she first found inspiration as a child.
This deeply personal performance of "Feral Hearts" took place in the forests of Vimsi.

I thinks she's basically what music should be.
When told to change her sound to one not true to herself, she walked.
She walked away from pretty much everything, literally living in the middle of the forest to recenter and ground and reconnect to her spirit.
Now she's making exactly what she wants, what she feels, and what is her, showing it to us after her own sculpting is done, in her own way, in her own time.
There is nothing contrived here. Nothing generic. Nothing half done. Absolutely nothing compromised. When asked to sell out, she rejected the promises and money, putting her soul and love for the art before all that. And you can hear it in every measure, and see it on her face.
This is pure music.

Whenever I feel lost or when I have to reconnect with my inner self, I can always count on the forest sessions of Feral Hearts and Blossom.
I’m living in another country, far away from home and sometimes I feel alone, like missing my identity. I know that Kerli was born in Estonia but moved to Los Angeles as soon as she had the chance and she stayed there for years, but she felt like she was losing her essence there... so she decided to connect back to her roots and go back to Estonia, I truly relate to that sometimes.
I missed her voice for all these years, so happy she is doing music again

I like Kerli's voice a lot better this way. It sounds better natural, less Americanized.
even this version has a lot voice processing effects on it and her voice is not really natural as it is. but i totally agree her natural voice is amazing and i love her voice so much more without any voice processors.

I love this song and version so much (I prefer this to the electronic standard one). The voice shines and piano notes as well. Starting from 1:38 I had chills in my arms, at 1.55 in my legs and by the end of song I felt I was in another world, maybe in Estonia listening to moss and trees. Great work Kerli!

Something really curious and amazing of this video is that I don't know if is because the so slow zoom of the camera or that vibe with the smoke...
