🇹🇭 This was my last day in Phuket so I wanted to try a few more locally popular dishes before leaving the island. I started my day at Boonrat Dim Sum (goo.gl/maps/gzi4yu2ZTCkmXwty9) a multi-generational shop specializing in the famous Cantonese breakfast favourite. It's the Thai influence which makes this Phuket dim sum nothing like in Canton. Point and choose what delightful morsel of steamed goodness you prefer, generously apply house sauce and enjoy!
Millennial Thai's love a good cafe. I popped into Dou Brew (goo.gl/maps/HeGtPKCNqgCeTXV77) a cafe specializing in craft chocolate. They've got plenty of options for your sweet tooth including coffee and chocolate creations such as the craft dirty. A double shot on cold milk served in an almond chocolate rimmed glass. Totally recommend!
If you're a noodle lover than you can not leave Phuket without trying Mee Hokkien. Somchit Noodle House (goo.gl/maps/3PyhDDnt4CGaA9Pe9) is serving a bowl of simplicity at its finest. Thick hokkien noodles served with generous toppings of pork, shrimp and wontons. Perfectly paired with a light broth to be seasoned at your table. This is a must-try!
After filling up I rode out to Wat Chaiwatthanaram (goo.gl/maps/sxQXfweUXbLLPE5b9) a complex of buddhist temples famous in Phuket. It is stunningly ornate and quite peaceful despite the crowds. Try to go early or late to avoid the heat.
O-Tao is a Phuketian scrambled egg with taro and oysters. Unique to the island, this dish is loved by locals. I went to O-Tao Ji Pien (goo.gl/maps/NWumyhkpTSB4ZtMDA) where Chinese New Year orders had this 70 year shop working at top speed. I watched for over an hour as the chef methodically prepared o-tao for the masses. In the end I neither loved it nor hated it. It was really spicy.
Every Sunday in Phuket Town along Thanon Thalang you can find a pedestrian-only pop-up night market. The Sunday Walking Street Market (goo.gl/maps/pFasAvaMhGuFdkMY8) has shops selling everything a tourist wants to take home for their friends and family, all sandwiched between street food carts and hawkers. Try the rolled ice cream made at ninja speed by one of the many desert stalls. It is surprisingly good quality ice cream!!

So I've been seeing so many comments from people about Sabrina, and wanted to say that I read where he said that she was in Canada, was doing fine, and that for this Thai series he filmed without her. The channel description hasn't changed, and the channel photograph is still the same, which tells me that she is planning on coming back when she is able.
As much as it's an adjustment for us to not see her in the videos, it's got to be even more of an adjustment for him to travel and film without her.
It's entirely possible that because of the personal things they are dealing with, they aren't sure what the future holds, so they can't tell us what they aren't sure of. Regardless, I think we should just keep them in our thoughts, send love and light, and let them know that no matter what happens, we are here to support them. Much Much Love As Always Luke & Sabrina! ❤️

It was really interesting and eye opening to see that "Thai style" dim sum. I'm not surprised that such a thing exists. Given the Chinese, particularly Cantonese, influence in a lot of Thai food. I am surprised, however, that I haven't seen this dim sum before. Thanks, Luke, for spotlighting this in Phuket.

Phuket is more of the Hokkien influenced than Cantonese. Most of the food items mentioned are actually Hokkien based, even the composition of the Phuket Dim Sum is not purely Cantonese. Most of the Phuket Chinese are related to the Penang Chinese who are predominantly Hokkiens. Yes Bak Kut Teh is Hokkien.

Hi Luke. Love your channel. I think you're one of the luckiest people on earth because you are using your time here to just explore and travel. Do you think you can make videos about how to travel on a budget? Your videos are inspiring me to get out and travel before I'm too old (mid-life crisis - I'm 49 and last time I was on a plane was 19 years ago). But travel seems prohibitively expensive. I'd love tips about how to plan a trip, find affordable places to stay, and cheap transportation. Thanks.

Do you guys ever get sick eating at public places because some fender’s/restaurants don’t look that hygienic and clean.
Btw been watching there videos for years now, always fun when they show the surroundings and place’s they visit, lovely content but could you guys maybe give a 1/10 and be a little more specific about what you/taste? The more detail the more fun it is to watch ;)

Always enjoyed travelling with Luke and Sabrina on their food travels, but we miss our New Brunswick girl. Wishing you both the vey best.
The pandemic has taken its toll on everyone’s lives and where we thought our futures were headed. Take the time you need to reflect, reevaluate and hopefully renew, if it is what is best for you both.
You may be already redefining and recreating yourselves, but Sabrina was the light and lilt to Luke’s straight and steady. Miss you guys!
If together isn’t the way forward, as you aren’t the same kids that headed out years ago from the Maritimes anymore, hoping Sabrina might consider vlogging Canada/North America a la Brian Downie style. Cultural adventures and iconic sights with food & bevys as the tasty accents. I’d send you a CN Tower SkyWalk Pass to kick things off, if I knew how to reach you.
Heck, start with Shediac, Acadia and wooden spoon lessons beneath the giant lobster statue - the NB Experience Guide has tons of starting places to offer! Tidal bore rafting ‘up’ the Bay of Fundy’s chocolate milk rivers, teetering Hopewell Rocks kayaking, Grand Manan sealife tours, Charlo’s blueberry honey collection, the beachcombers foraging cookups, the Acadian trail at the time of the Tintanmarre e.g. Memramcook on August 15th, Voyageur canoeing in Kouchibouguac or down the Miramichi River, the Mi’kmaq Metepengiac or Red Bank Heritage unique stays, all the crafting sessions local artisans have to offer … the list is endless.
    Hugs to you both!

Really well managed video.Noodles, rolled ice cream.I guess the day got rolled by ice cream.Drone shots are great as well. It is lovely presentation and foods for everyones taste, well done!I like that Phuket food has been shown more than just usual Thai food.

Wow, there are more people than I thought😀 Hope more people will be able to travel around the world shortly🙂 Almost all the food is very similar to Japanese dishes. All of them make me hungry... The last ice cream looks so delicious too🤤 Thank you for the nice video!! Stay safe guys😷 From Japan.

i know some of you folks have been watching the channel for a while and have become used to the relationship, but let luke divulge info on his relationship when he feels he can/should. otherwise, just enjoy the content. there is a lot of stuff to take in and enjoy.
