- Wild Camping in The Lake District | My First Wildcamp in the MLD Trailstar.
In this video myself and lads head up to Crag Hill for a Wild camp. The route follows a stream most of the way up then slowly starts to ascend onto Sail first. Once we hit the summit of Sail its up onto Crag Hill. We then find a nice pitch with panoramic views of the Lake District. We watched sunset and cooked some good scran. Sunrise was decent and then it was time to pack down and head back. I hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed the camp. See you on the next one.

Looking forward to this Chris and hearing your thoughts about the Trail star. It looks like a solid set up and always fancied one but my aging body is preferring more space these days plus i am mostly on Moorland terrain and the Trail star looks more at home on firmer ground in the Lakes and Snowdonia . PS I have Pre Thumbs upped it ;)
Yes Olan. Thanks for the early comment. I've not done too much talking about it in this video with it being it's first outing but did a little show round and talk. You would love the trailstar mate. Very versatile to pitch and it's got such a huge space underneath. We had 3 of us lay underneath it during the evening just chatting. I did however have a lanshan 1 inner setup inside which you will see. Let us know what you think when you've watched the video 👍
@@iamchriswhelan Just watched Chris, nicely put together mate and great conditions too ;) I use one of the Chinese inners in my Duomid, I have the 3 and 4 season types and for 60 quid they do the job although they are a bit snug . I managed to get them both with T zips too. If you want to go light i guess we have to make some sacrifices and as long as i can keep the dreaded midges off me then i dont really mind because its not like you are spending 15 hours inside your tent as can be the case during the thick of the winter months. @Olan... Cheers Olan for watching. Yeh the lanshan inner will do for now and sometimes I'll just kip on the ground sheet. Just bought some of that plastic stuff to make a ground sheet for next time. Have to get on a camp with us man.

Thanks man. Yeh the trailstar is abit of a beast man. Plenty of room and easy to pitch. It's starting to become my favourite tent aswell
