റമ്പാന്‍ പാട്ട്
മാര്‍തോമാശ്ലീഹായുടെ കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രേഷിത പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം വിവരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ക്രുതിയാണ് റമ്പാന്‍ പാട്ട്. കേരളത്തിലെ സെന്തോമസ് പാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളുടെ സംഗ്രഹമായി ഇതിനെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം. തോമാശ്ലീഹായുടെ ശിഷ്യനായിരുന്ന തോമസ് മാളിയേക്കല്‍ ഇത് രചിച്ചുവെന്ന് പൊതുവെ വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഈ തോമസിന്‍റെ കുടുംബത്തില്‍ എല്ലാ തലമുറകളിലും വൈദികര്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഈ കുടുംബത്തിലെ 48-ാമത്തെ പുരോഹിതനായ തോമസ് റമ്പാന്‍ മാളിയേക്കല്‍ പകര്‍ത്തി ആധുനിക ഭാഷയില്‍ എഴുതിയ പതിപ്പാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ നമ്മുടെ പക്കലുള്ളത്. ഇത് 1601 -ല്‍ രചിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നാണ് പൊതുവെ കരുതപ്പെടുന്നത്.
448 വരികളുള്ള സുദീര്‍ഘമായ ഒരു ഗീതമാണ് റമ്പാന്‍ പാട്ട്. അതിന്‍റെ ഒരു ഹ്രസ്വരൂപം മാത്രമാണ് ഇവിടെ കാവ്യാത്മകമായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. എങ്കിലും നമ്മൂടെ അപ്പസ്തോലന്‍റെ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ പ്രേഷിത പ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന്‍റെ യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ ചിത്രം നമുക്ക് ഇതില്‍ നിന്നും ലഭ്യമാകും.
നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ മാര്‍തോമാശ്ലീഹായുടെ രക്തസാക്ഷിത്വത്തിന്‍റെ 1950-ആം വാര്‍ഷികം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്ന ഈ അവസരത്തില്‍, സീറോ-മലബാര്‍ സഭയുടെ പ്രേഷിത മുന്നണിയായ സെന്തോമസ് മിഷനറി സൊസൈറ്റി മാര്‍തോമാ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളുടെ സ്വകാര്യാഹങ്കാരമായ റമ്പാന്‍ പാട്ട് നമ്മൂടെ നാടിന്‍റെ തനതായ ഈണത്തില്‍ സഭാമക്കള്‍ക്കായി സവിനയം സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നു.
